[22:28] [Vanal] we're off to see the feathered one
[22:28] [Maris] ah coo
[22:28] [Jynaru] Find Feather, apply the offer he cannot refuse.
[22:28] [Vanal] and I'm pissed at being showed up the a certain bronzed sorcerer
[22:28] [Storyteller] okay and was somebody being left behind?
[22:28] [Vanal] ...an offer he can't refuse
[22:29] [Vanal] DAMMIT...can I make a new char ?Okay, his name is Thomaso giovanni !
[22:29] [Maris] No I think we were just gonna wait for the bones to finish burning then all go ourselves
[22:29] [Storyteller] ok
[22:29] [Jynaru] Nope. We burnt the damn lion, we're going. We get there. Curtain rises.
[22:29] [Storyteller] I'm assuming you guys all spent that hour and a half plotting against me.... right?
[22:29] * Vanal hides the silenced PPK
[22:29] [Tei] if it's necessary to leave somebody back I would be a good choice as I gotta jet in about 30 minutes
[22:29] [Vanal] who, us ?
[22:29] [Storyteller] sorry man
[22:30] [Storyteller] okay
[22:30] [Cicada] Nah, just messing with Fiat's brains. As usual.
[22:30] [Storyteller] does anybody know werlynn's wc3 account name?
[22:30] [Jynaru] I don't have brains any more, just big fricking balls.
[22:30] [Vanal] no clue
[22:30] [Tei] hopefully this crap be over soon and I can make a full session probably next week or the one after that
[22:31] [Jynaru] And Hikari seems to have perfected the technique to squueze the last bits of juice out of them.
[22:31] * Werlynn-WC3 is now known as Tala
[22:31] [Vanal] that’s just WRONG
[22:31] [Vanal] groovy
[22:31] * Vanal flexes his 16-inch pythons
[22:31] [Vanal] whatcha gonna do, brother, when the V-man comes for YOU ?!
[22:31] [Jynaru] Bizang! She's unleashed the beast. I'm probably gonna be talking like that all night now.
[22:32] [Storyteller] As you travel towards the rumored location of Feather Slitting through the Rain, you begin passing through various strange weather effects. Some patches of incredibly cold air, some incredibly hot, making you sweat and possibly get ice cream headaches. A far off rumble of thunder and rain can be heard at all times, and the very ground seems to be ready to change
[22:32] [Cicada] (to Tabius) Wyld area, my lord?
[22:33] * Thanos is now known as Tabius
[22:33] * Thanos [~web-Guest@cm245.80.120.24.lvcm.com] has left IRC
[22:33] [Vanal] "Wonderful. We're in a bloody carnival funhouse."
[22:33] [Tabius] (*Let met catch up I was away for a bit will take 1 min)
[22:34] [Storyteller] Eventually you arrive at a grassy knoll, a giant sand dune perhaps or a kane (if you know what that is), covered with grass and occasionally being struck with lightning. Perpetual gloom and rain seems to fall on it, and a steady wind blows through your hair and clothes, making it stand away from you like a flag in the breeze
[22:34] [Tabius] (*OK)
[22:35] [Storyteller] A huge thunderclap cracks through the sky, and a loud, bellowing voice demands, "Who dares come here?"
[22:35] [Vanal] (go get her, Ray !)
[22:36] * Tabius looks to the IO's and then to the others seeing if anybody is going to speak.
[22:36] * Jynaru shakes his head. Theatrics do not impress me.
[22:36] * Vanal blinks, and remains unfazed
[22:36] * Cicada gets down from Tabius horse, and stand ready.
[22:36] [Vanal] (Hey, we've squared off against bandits, anathema, a bone lion, and blood apes...a little lightning and a loud voice is pretty minor)
[22:36] * Maris gets off the back of Tala's horse and looks about.
[22:36] * Tala dismounts, lest her horse become frightened and throw her
[22:37] * Tabius dismounts as well.
[22:37] [Storyteller] The rain turns to sleet and starts blowing towards you from the sky
[22:37] * Cicada holds the reins of her lord's horse.
[22:37] [Tala] (let's commit that 5 essence for spirit sight)
[22:39] [Storyteller] Tala you see dozens of spirits. Some small and human like, but a handful of them are dragon-formed, a couple long and sinewy like snakes, roaming through the air with many legs and huge faces billowing smog and various elements.... one seems to be a water dragon, and another seems to be a air dragon.
[22:37] * Tabius in a not so loud voice, but easily heard, "We come seeking the mighty FeatherslitsinRain!"
[22:37] * Jynaru faces blandly into the wind, and chuckles.
[22:38] * Vanal holds his hood down on his head
[22:38] [Tabius] "That we, the Sons of the Earth, might speak with him.
[22:38] * Tala looks towards the direction of the voice, her sight piercing the veil into the spirit's world
[22:38] [Tala] (personal)
[22:39] [Storyteller] Lightning strikes the hilltop again
[22:39] [Storyteller] "Speak!"
[22:41] [Storyteller] thunder crackles through the sky
[22:42] * Tabius bows slightly towards the hilltop and moves to the front of the group by half a step, "We seek a resolution to a conflict that involves Malkor's Guard, oh great one"
[22:42] * Tala turns her head looking at different things
[22:42] * Vanal keeps his damn mouth shut this time
[22:43] [Jynaru] (What, so I shouldn't go offending this one too?)
[22:43] [Storyteller] Lightning smashes into the hill. "The town you speak of has defiled ancient oaths and are no longer of use to us! Their payment for failing in their duties shall be in their own blood!
[22:43] * Vanal raises an eyebrow
[22:43] [Vanal] (Touch one of my cigars, and I'll plant you six feet under, Robin Hood)
[22:44] * Jynaru sighs, and loosens the cover on his quiver.
[22:44] * Tabius still bowing slightly and putting every bit of sincerity he can into things, "Your wrath is righteous, great one, but the blood of those innocents is not worthy to stain thy hands."
[22:44] * Tala frowns
[22:45] [Storyteller] "They are not innocents!" the unseen voice thunders on, "Everyone one of them knows of their forefathers oaths! So as it runs through their blood, they must follow them, or be destroyed!"
[22:46] [Tabius] "
[22:47] [Jynaru] (Couldn't light it in this weather anyway. Is there some sort of inappropriate gesture in Exalted similar to flipping the bird?
[22:47] [Tala] "I see. Yes, because the townsfolk all went out and dug up the demons they must suffer?"
[22:47] * Tabius levels his head but keeping his eyes lowered.
[22:48] * Vanal looks at Jyn and mouths "Don't even THINK it."
[22:48] [Tala] "The townsfolk had nothing to do with it."
[22:49] [Storyteller] Thunder rumbles. "The duty of the citizens of Malkor's Guard was to prevent the freedom of these Solars! Only through their blood can Malkor be reborn... thus if they are not killed, Malkor shall rise to power again!"
[22:49] [Tala] "And making the streets run with great quantities of their blood will help?"
[22:50] * Vanal blinks and mutters "But...didn't we *kill* Malkor ?"
[22:50] [Storyteller] "If the old lords cannot be born again, then they will not trouble us any longer."
[22:50] * Jynaru raises an eyebrow.
[22:50] [Tala] "More likely those who dug up the anathema will use the spilled blood for their ritual to raise him."
[22:51] [Maris] "Isn't there another way? One that won't end up with you and the rest of the spirits in the area being crucified by the Immaculate Order when they get here?"
[22:51] [Maris] ((second question isn't a question))
[22:51] * Maris says walking forward some
[22:52] [Tabius] "Perhaps let the people of the Guard be given leave to complete their Oath and imprison Malkor again!"
[22:52] * TheScreenJockey [~aaron@1Cust18.tnt19.atl2.da.uu.net] is on IRC
[22:52] [Maris] !ex 4
[22:52] [Storyteller] Maris, 2, 4, 2, 3, Successes : 0
[22:52] [Storyteller] Laughter crackles through the sky. "Their blood will be useless in summoning them again! Only by birth can the curse of Malkor be passed, not through death. There is no way this can be averted; the imprisonment of the two rulers was the price for their lives before..... they have failed, and if they have failed this time, they are not of sufficient strength of will to succeed in the spans of time that must be foreseen!"
[22:52] * TheScreenJockey (~aaron@1Cust18.tnt19.atl2.da.uu.net) has joined #pvpexalted
[22:52] [Storyteller] [hey WB]
[22:53] * TheScreenJockey is now known as Shakel
[22:53] * TheScreenJockey [~aaron@1Cust18.tnt19.atl2.da.uu.net] has left IRC
[22:53] [Tala] I don't see the guy from the city?
[22:53] [Storyteller] You can see a spirit, large and powerful, manlike with feathers sprouting from his skin and nearly translucent, gusts of air flowing around him carrying small leaves and rocks. By the description you have heard before, He must certainly be Feather slits through the rain.
[22:53] [Shakel] [been living in the 19th century for the last 2 hours]
[22:53] [Vanal] [...oh ?]
[22:53] * Maris frowns a little as he looks about annoyed.
[22:53] * Shakel Storyteller . . . it's alright, I’ve been without power
[22:54] [Storyteller] [suxx0r[
[22:54] [Shakel] [[er, my bad]]
[22:55] [Maris] "We have already dealt with 3 of the Forsaken ourselves. We have the strength of will to deal with Malkor."
[22:55] [Tala] "How will you sort out those who share no descendance from those who make the oaths?"
[22:55] * Jynaru sits impassively on his horse, and speaks over the wind and sleet. "If you need to eliminate their blood, you're going to have to do more than the town. People of the blood leave. Are you prepared for that?"
[22:55] [Tala] "Surely if you are the dealers of Righteous Justice you seem to portray yourselves as you must sort out the innocents."
[22:56] [Tala] (one was unclean, the other was wretched no?)
[22:56] [Maris] They're all Forsaken to Maris
[22:57] [Jynaru] (Kill them all and let the dragons sort them out.)
[22:57] [Storyteller] "Innocents will be killed, but a mistake cannot be made, allowing one who must die to live and give birth to these horrible creatures!"
[22:57] [Maris] "So one of the blood must give birth to Malkor?"
[22:57] [Maris] "Is that what your saying?"
[22:57] [Storyteller] "Yes"
[22:58] [Maris] "There are ways to deal with that that doesn't involve bloodletting."
[22:58] [Tala] "So what is the difference between allowing you to butcher innocents and allowing Malkor to rise and do the same?"
[22:59] [Storyteller] "Their descendants shall be hunted throughout the Realm; already spirits in other lands rise to find and put down this menace. If Malkor were to rise, it would not be the descendants of one town to be slain, but an entire WORLD to be enslaved and corrupted again."
[22:59] [Maris] "Does the child have to be conceived after the escape or merely born after?"
[22:59] [Storyteller] "Neither; it could be one still living; even the eldliest man could become one of what you would call anathema."
[23:00] * Tabius looks at Maris, "Any descendants of the original town can be demonized to become Anathema
[23:00] [Maris] "And if you kill that man?"
[23:00] [Storyteller] "Then the spirit of Malkor shall pass from this world to seek vengeance no more."
[23:01] [Tala] "Any descendants of any town, lacking the virtuous blood of the dragons, can become anathema. It is their insidious way."
[23:01] [Maris] "We have already killed one Forsaken who awakened very soon after the death."
[23:01] [Maris] "Could that have been him?"
[23:01] [Tei] [gotta go, be sure to swing by the pyre and pick Tei up as you leave]
[23:01] [Storyteller] The Thunder pauses for a moment and then he thunders again
[23:01] [Storyteller] l8r
[23:01] * Tei (manxcat@wv-mltn-ubr-c-024-159-089-167.charterwv.net) Quit (Quit: )
[23:02] [Vanal] [adios mi amici)
[23:02] * Jynaru removes Glorious Seed from the quiver and raises it high.
[23:02] [Jynaru] (A far more fitting name than George.)
[23:02] [Storyteller] "Even if he is killed once, he will rise again, until every one of his blood has been corrupted by the foul anathema, damning their souls forever."
[23:02] [Maris] "What if he isn't killed. What if we capture him again?"
[23:03] [Cicada] [Hmmm, just as Tei leave the CD change to a track named; "I miss you"..]
[23:03] [Storyteller] his voice shakes on this last thing, and thunder echoes around the hill. Several trees shatter into splinters.
[23:03] [Maris] "Can he leave the body after he's entered it?"
[23:04] [Maris] "If it's not dead?"
[23:04] [Storyteller] "No, he cannot leave a body after he has possessed it. If you were to capture him, he would only rise again; so this shows me and my fellow spirits. You cannot be trusted to stand guard over such a foul creature, and we do not trust ourselves with this responsibility either."
[23:05] [Maris] "You do not trust yourselves with the responsibility?"
[23:05] [Maris] "Why not?"
[23:05] [Storyteller] "The ways of the anathema are crafty and numerous. We do not believe any can stand against them forever, even dead."
[23:05] * Jynaru lowers the arrow, but does not replace it in the quiver. "You are responsible enough to slaughter thousands, but not guard over one being?"
[23:06] [Storyteller] "Even if we guarded against this one, eventually we would fail; this is known to us."
[23:06] [Tabius] "So the only solution you see is to kill every living descendant? Is that correct?"
[23:07] [Maris] "What if they are contained like they were before. They were only freed because the people of Malkor's Gaurd grew lax through forgetfulness. You would not forget and be able to guard it into eternity."
[23:08] [Storyteller] "You are correct, even if we were to attempt to guard it into eternity, we would be slain by their numerous demonic allies, so it has been dreamed and is Truth."
[23:08] [Maris] "How many are of the blood and need to be slain?"
[23:09] [Storyteller] "13,572"
[23:09] * Tala looks up, giving a puzzled expression, but her tone is flat, "Why would you place the safe keeping of such a terrible creature in the hands of being so short lived when you and your brethren could have kept it safe forever?"
[23:09] [Maris] "And you can find them all?"
[23:10] [Storyteller] "The dreams did not reveal certainty that they would be defeated as we were. There was a chance; it was upon this chance that they were allowed to live."
[23:10] [Maris] how many people in Malkor's Gaurd?
[23:11] [Storyteller] hmm, don't quite have the exact number on me, but it's about 20k right now, not including the Houses present.
[23:12] [Maris] mkay
[23:10] [Tabius] "Can not its spirit be destroyed in some fashion?"
[23:11] [Storyteller] "We have not been sleeping these many years, Lords of the Earth. We know the name of every man and woman who has left this place, and their descendants in other places. Only the Unconquered Sun himself can destroy it's spirit, and it would not do so, for it does not care for the plights of the mortals any longer."
[23:11] [Maris] "What is the chance you spoke of?"
[23:11] [Maris] "Is it still possible?"
[23:11] [Tala] "Still, it was irresponsible and foolish of you to place the safekeeping of such demons in the hands of mortals."
[23:12] * Tabius thinks that the Unconquered Sun does care about mortals or its presence would night light the sky on a regular basis.
[23:12] [Storyteller] The spirit laughs. "There was no other way without their deaths. The deaths are the same now and then, is it not? And they did us the favor of preparing him for his long sleep.
[23:13] [Maris] "You said it was upon the chance that they were allowed to live. What was that chance?"
[23:13] [Tabius] "That the mortals could keep their end of the bargain and make sure that the Anathema did not escape"
[23:13] * Tala takes a tally of the # of spirits
[23:14] [Storyteller] 52
[23:13] * Shakel is now known as Qet
[23:14] [Storyteller] "We could not be sure that they would succeed, but neither could we be sure that they would fail. But now they have clearly failed, and so they must die."
[23:14] [Maris] "They've failed once."
[23:14] [Maris] "Why can't they try again?"
[23:14] [Maris] "If there was a chance before why is there not a chance now?"
[23:15] [Storyteller] "If they fail in their imprisonment, what manner of destruction will he reign? Even now his spirit is free, and we know not where he is going to reappear. What horrors will he inflict before he has been captured again, vengeance he will wreck?"
[23:15] [Tala] [hmm.....this guy isn't speaking old realm again is he?]
[23:15] [Storyteller] no he's speaking in high, the others spoke in low
[23:16] [Tala] [just checking, there was somebody you said was speaking old last time]
[23:16] [Maris] "If the one before was him he had not done much at all. We killed him without much difficulty and we could capture him easily."
[23:16] [Vanal] "you speak of horrors and vengeance...yet you are advocating the slaughter of 14 thousand people."
[23:17] [Maris] "If we catch him before he grows too much in power not much harm will be done. Besides the harm will mostly hit the people of Malkor's Gaurd."
[23:17] [Storyteller] "It is a small price compared to the suffering he will inflict now and again, and again if he is freed many times. It must be finished here while it still can be."
[23:18] [Tabius] "I suggest a Compromise, if you will be so thoughtful as to hear us great ones?"
[23:18] [Maris] "We can deal with him before he grows to the level of destruction he did before."
[23:18] [Maris] "And this way you won't have the Immaculate Order coming in and hunting you all down."
[23:18] [Storyteller] "How so? You are not as strong as you were in the first age. You do not have the power to imprison his spirit."
[23:19] [Maris] "Which they will do if you harm even one of the citizens of Malkor's Keep."
[23:19] [Maris] "Allow us the chance to find a way."
[23:19] [Maris] "Help us yourself if you can to imprison him."
[23:19] [Maris] "If not we will find a way before he can stop us."
[23:20] [Maris] "But you must allow us to try before you attack the town."
[23:20] * Tabius looks at Maris as if his mouth runneth over with maggots."
[23:21] * Vanal rubs his temples
[23:21] * Jynaru smiles.
[23:21] [Storyteller] Thunder rumbles as he speaks. "Our price is of no issue here. The Immaculates cannot destroy our numbers, but the anathema must be dealt with."
[23:21] [Jynaru] (Maris to the rescue. Solution: Kick ass, repeat as necessary.)
[23:21] [Vanal] "Than allow *us* to deal with the anathema."
[23:22] [Tala] "The Wyld Hunt kept these demons from rising for centuries. One might say it has broken since our Beloved Empress disappeared, due to the petty bickering of Dynast Lords, but the deaths of so many people of the Realm would draw even their attention and you may find the Hunt will have renewed focus as it hunts down you and your minions."
[23:22] [Tabius] "A possible solution is thus, we capture the villain, encase him in Amber once again or in some other fashion remove his ability to gain his revenge in the short run, we remove the ability of all the descendents to have children. In 80 years time, he will have no descendents alive to utilize.
[23:23] [Storyteller] "How? By chasing after each incarnation until they are all killed in a much slower and more agonizing way?"
[23:23] * Vanal indicates his compatriots
[23:23] * Cicada remembers Bentharr. That was a pretty bad way to go.
[23:24] [Maris] "Given a choice that's what they would prefer."
[23:24] * Jynaru remembers Bentharr too. As a target.
[23:24] [Tabius] "If he can not leave a body once possessed then that is his vulnerability, yes. If he is kept alive or in Status long enough for the towns people to die natural deaths there will no longer be a problem if he escapes again.
[23:25] [Tala] [*begins wondering how a mass sterilization would be handled w/o celestial or solar sorcery*]
[23:25] [Maris] [snip snip]
[23:25] [Vanal] [cut sut, snip sip]
[23:25] [Storyteller] "How would you do this?"
[23:26] [Tala] [14k people alot of whom we would never id?]
[23:26] [Maris] "Human's reproductive systems are easily stopped. It just takes a few good doctors. with your help to find all of the descendants it would be very possible.
[23:26] [Tabius] "There are still Artifacts from the first age that posses the power to encase the possed body in Amber, as before. He would be in status. With the correct application of some drugs to the individuals of the town they could not procreate. We would just need to herd any others to the town."
[23:27] [Storyteller] A great quiet falls over the clearing, except for the roaring of the winds and the crackling of lightning and thunder. Anticipation, perhaps.
[23:27] [Tabius] "And as Maris has mentioned let the good Doctors at them."
[23:28] * Qet (~aaron@1Cust18.tnt19.atl2.da.uu.net) Quit (Ping timeout)
[23:28] [Maris] "They would prefer this to death. And if not they could choose death."
[23:28] [Storyteller] "How long would this take?"
[23:28] [Maris] "Not long. A few months at the most if the descendants aren't too far spread."
[23:29] [Maris] "if we find Malkor fast enough he could be captured in a matter of days."
[23:29] * Qet (~aaron@1Cust6.tnt13.tpa2.da.uu.net) has joined #pvpexalted
[23:29] [Tabius] "With your help his capture would take just as long as finding him. His encasement as long as it would take to get a device here, and the people would take a few months to steralize."
[23:29] * Tala frowns but keeps her disbelief to herself.
[23:30] [Storyteller] "We do not know where he will arise next. We can tell you whom to find and where they are, but this must be done quickly. And soon."
[23:31] [Storyteller] roll wits+lore to see if you have offended the spirits.
[23:31] [Maris] "Finding Malkor is a first priority. If you could help us by sending your people out to help us search for him we can capture him very quickly."
[23:31] [Maris] [5d10]

[23:32] [Storyteller] Jynaru, 5, 5, 5, 10, Successes : 2
[23:33] [Storyteller] [Eh, spirits are funny creatures]
[23:33] [Tabius] (*gives Cicada a high Five.... you a botch, me nothing and both of us not the guy with the lowest dice pool)
[23:33] [Jynaru] (Tabius failed, but Cicada botched. Remind me to have them ambushed by muggers.)
[23:33] [Cicada] (HEY!)
[23:34] [Storyteller] "No! We are not impressed. We do not believe you have the power to subjugate the masses to your will."
[23:34] [Jynaru] (Muggers with cool toys, so they don't just stain her dress with blood.)
[23:34] [Maris] "We've killed 3 forsaken already. We've killed 7 demon apes and a bone lion."
[23:35] [Tabius] "They have an EASY choice great one, DIE or do not have children."
[23:35] [Tabius] "Most sane mortals will take the later, as anything is better than death."
[23:35] [Maris] "We hold the town with a legion to protect it. It is a simple matter to turn it on them if we need to."
[23:35] [Cicada] (whispering) "we are sooo dead... we are soooo dead..."
[23:35] [Vanal] "I am a soldier with some pull. If need be, I can MAKE them bow to our will, by force."
[23:36] [Tabius] "In addition great ones, if we kill them all, we risk the rise of a shadowland in the heart of the Realm, almost as bad as Malkor exacting his revenge!"
[23:36] * Jynaru stares at the pair. It is clear he wishes to put an arrow or two in them. "I can also offer help in enforcing the solution."
[23:37] [Tala] (actually, in Exalted, there are probably alot of things worse than death)
[23:38] [Storyteller] The spirit ponders this last bit before responding. "Very well..... you may try your way. You have one week to contain the people of Malkors Guard and subjugate them. If you succeed, you may enforce your plans. We will tell you if Malkor is sighted, and if so, he must be .. imprisoned... in this way you speak of. But if you should fail, then our vengeance shall be swift and unmerciful, and any innocents in the cities will not stay our hand."
[23:38] [Maris] "We will need knowledge of all of Malkor's people outside of the town."
[23:39] [Storyteller] "We will give this to you after you have shown success in containing the people of Malkors Guard.
[23:40] * Maris nods
[23:40] [Tabius] "Then we shall be off and a week from the time we get to Malkors Guard the people will be pacified, in one manner of speaking."
[23:41] [Maris] "Another thing spirits. If I may ask a small favor but it will take almost a full day to get back to Malkor's Gaurd from here. Could you possibly help us in getting back?"
[23:41] [Maris] ((if I may ask of you a small thing. It will take blah blah blah))
[23:43] * Tala will have nothing to do with this hideous plot
[23:43] [Maris] "The faster we can contain the city the less time Malkor has to prepare."
[23:44] [Jynaru] (Morals? At this stage in the game? Come now, it's thousands of spirits killing thousands of people, or this.)
[23:44] * Tabius looks to Tala, "If you have a better solution speak now."
[23:44] [Tala] [I hope the people suggesting this and planning to carry it out have low compassion and high conviction]
[23:44] [Storyteller] A huge dragon make of black stone and dripping water materializes above you. It's many arms claw through the air as it floats over you. It slowly wafts towards the ground
[23:44] * Tala 'said' nothing
[23:44] [Storyteller] [true you should probably roll compassion if you intend to carry through with this plan]

[23:45] [Storyteller] "yes"

[23:49] [Vanal] (I'm blase either way ?)
[23:49] [Tabius] (*Your a good little soldier Van ;-)
[23:49] [Storyteller] [indeed]
[23:49] [Tala] "Threatening to murder or sterilize thousands? With their alternative option being to get butchered by spirits? The Order will not stand by."
[23:50] [Vanal] "And what will the Order *do* Tala ? We don't HAVE a Dragon-spawned CHOICE !"
[23:50] * Maris looks at Tala, "Tala we will talk about this later. Right now it's our only option."
[23:50] [Jynaru] (Just following orders. I assume I'm gung-ho about it, but regret that there's not a better way, or something.)
[23:50] * Maris gives Tala a look that seems to hide something.
[23:50] [Vanal] "If you have a better idea, I'm ALL ears. I don't like it either...but it MUST BE DONE."
[23:51] * Tabius gets his saddle backs from his horse unless the dragon is taking the horses as well.
[23:51] * Maris turns back to the dragon and smiles to him, "Now what must I do to take advantage of your hospitality?"
[23:52] [Storyteller] The dragon roars and rears it's head. It seems to have no interest in chatting
[23:52] [Jynaru] "The Order will stand by. They understand the alternatives."
[23:52] * Maris will get on however he can and motion the others to do the same.
[23:52] * Vanal follows Maris
[23:53] * Jynaru gathers his bags, and reseals his quiver. He then boards, however it's done.
[23:53] [Vanal] "We can argue on the way."
[23:53] * Tabius gets his saddlebags, slaps the horse on the ass real had and tells it to find home, "We will have to get Tie where the river bends"
[23:53] * Cicada carries her lord's baggage, and follows him.
[23:53] * Tala 's frown has not faded. She looks at the dragon spirit for several moments but decides it would be unwise to ride her horse back, as she would arrive too late.
[23:54] [Storyteller] The spirit dragon settles to the ground lightly
[23:54] * Tala collects her bag from her horse and untacks it so that it may leave freely, hopefully even returning to the farm where she got him
[23:55] * Tala gets on the dragon
[23:55] [Storyteller] The dragon's scales are cold and wet, but you have little problem crawling into the hands of one of it's many scaley hands.
[23:56] * Vanal sighs depressively...he didn't exactly want to neuter a city
[23:57] * Jynaru just enjoys the ride, and puts such thoughts from his mind.
[23:58] * Tabius thinks like a mad man through all the possibilities over and over again trying to find a better solution.
[23:58] * Cicada just holds on and avoids meeting the eyes of anyone. She knows that she is having improper thoughts.
[23:58] * Tala tries to meditate but finds her thoughts to troubled to focus
[23:59] [Storyteller] The dragon takes to the air once everyone is on, it's massive wings beating the air and lifting itself into the sky
[00:00] [Storyteller] It stops to hover over Tei, the fire long since dead, and he stares into the sky above him
[00:01] [Tabius] "Get aboard, we are going back to the town.
[00:01] [Storyteller] Tei gathers his things and jumps on
[00:02] [Storyteller] The dragon lifts into the sky again.
[00:02] [Storyteller] From this distance you can see a massive congregation of people traveling east, and the dragon's channel is filled with sailing ships.
[00:02] * Jynaru looks down at them, and curses.
[00:03] [Cicada] So the exodus has already begun...
[00:03] * Jynaru raises his voice to get over the wingbeats. "VANAL! We've got problems!!!
[00:03] [Tabius] "Oh shit."
[00:03] [Vanal] "OH FUCK."
[00:03] * Maris says nothing and waits tell he's back on solid ground.
[00:03] * Tala frowns, seeing that it has become all the more simple for the spirits to do their job.
[00:03] [Jynaru] "Can we get the dragon to land in front of the eastern group?"
[00:04] [Maris] "Hey you think you could land in front of the Eastern Group?!"
[00:04] * Maris yells to the dragon
[00:04] [Storyteller] The dragon circles over the crowd, which scatters every which way as various animals and men drop to their knees in prayer and stampede seems to get some of them.... many dragon bloods raise their weapons in preparation
[00:04] [Storyteller] Most of these people seem to be dressed in house livery
[00:05] [Maris] "I think this is just the Houses Leaving."
[00:05] [Storyteller] Some bearing the banners of the houses.
[00:05] [Maris] "I don't think we have to worry about the townsfolk leaving just yet."
[00:05] * Tabius stands up and waves to the Cathak people.
[00:05] * Vanal thanks the Dragons
[00:05] * Vanal gives a Cathak war-whoop
[00:06] * Maris gets out of the dragons claws and waves his hands to the others to show the dragon meant no harm.
[00:06] [Vanal] "Let's see those Sesus twerps out-do THIS."
[00:06] [Qet] . . . in the crowd, one man stand his ground. He draws no weapon, and does not run. He merely smiles at the dragon serenely. He is dressed in the robe of an Immaculate . . .
[00:06] [Maris] "Thank you for the ride!"
[00:06] [Storyteller] The Cathak people stare at the dragons, apparently regaining some measure of composure as the giant dragon lands on the ground, distributing it's weight along it's many other feet in order to not squish you as it lands.
[00:06] [Tala] [getting a drink]
[00:06] [Storyteller] The dragon snorts as you disembark and then leaps into the air, flying back towards the way it came.
[00:06] * Jynaru hops off, and thanks the dragon.
[00:06] * Maris looks to the others.
[00:07] [Maris] "Let's try and get as many dragon blooded to stay as we can."
[00:07] * Maris then looks to the priest with a smile and walks up to him, "A pleasure to see you monk."
[00:07] [Storyteller] The dynasts who had earlier scattered are now slowly regaining their composure.
[00:07] * Jynaru looks to the local Cathaks. Your move, Cathaks."
[00:07] [Storyteller] You notice they seem to be mostly mortal
[00:08] * Vanal hops off and smiles, his cloak fluttering behind him
[00:08] [Vanal] "Who's in charge ?"
[00:08] * Tala looks at her brother monk
[00:08] [Storyteller] A few obvious dragon bloods surround the crowd, trying to bring them back under control, and help those who had been stampled.
[00:08] * Tabius looks for any DragonBlooded in the group of people going East.
[00:09] [Storyteller] One of the dragon bloods, an young man with skin gleaming red walks up. He wears the colors of house Tepet
[00:09] * Qet bows slightly. "I am honored . . . you bring a dragon with you . . ."
[00:10] [Maris] "We do our best to make a good first impression." He says with a shrug.
[00:10] [Storyteller] "I am in charge of the Withdrawal. Sirs, I must ask that if you plan to do something like that in the future, you refrain from it..."
[00:10] [Vanal] "
[00:10] [Storyteller] He looks out over the mess
[00:10] * Tala bows to Qet
[00:10] [Vanal] "We hadn't planned it to being with. We have a situation, Mr... ?"
[00:10] [Vanal] *begin
[00:10] [Maris] "Can we talk to all the Exalted in the group please. It is vitally important!" He says to the entire group.
[00:11] [Storyteller] The Exalted look busy
[00:11] * Maris shoves a lot of authority in that voice.
[00:11] [Qet] The Immaculate is dressed much as you'd expect. Draped over his shoulders is a 12-sectioned staff of green jade, strung across his back is a simple ash bow, and at his hip is a quiver of arrows. He bears the greenish tint of a Wood Aspect . . . "My name is
[00:11] [Qet] Qet. V'neef Pelenaro Qet."
[00:11] * Tabius looks at the guy, "Would you know where Lady Juniper is?
[00:11] [Storyteller] "I'll discuss with you what needs to be discussed for now, although if you wish to return to the city, you will find more ears there."
[00:11] [Cicada] (whispering to Tabius) My lord, should I go and help the wounded?
[00:11] * Jynaru (Fiat@dialup-209.244.113.40.Dial1.Atlanta1.Level3.net) Quit (Ping timeout)
[00:11] * Jynaru [Fiat@dialup-209.244.113.40.Dial1.Atlanta1.Level3.net] has left IRC
[00:12] [Maris] "We need some help dealing with anathema. We'd like as many volunteers as you can spare."
[00:12] [Storyteller] "We are merely returning those who have no desire to be here to their home."
[00:12] [Storyteller] He shakes his head.
[00:12] [Storyteller] "Such a large withdrawal must be guarded. I fear we can spare no one from our movement."
[00:12] * Tabius whispers to Cicada, "Not at this time."
[00:13] [Cicada] (to Tabius) Yes, my lord, I understand.
[00:13] [Maris] "Can you spare no one?"
[00:13] * Tabius looking back at the DB, "You take none from the city with you?"
[00:13] [Qet] "I am . . . not part of this effort. I volunteer my services."
[00:13] * Maris smiles to Qet, "We welcome you then."
[00:13] * Maris then looks back to the one in charge.
[00:14] [Storyteller] The DB shrugs. "I suppose a few of the city have decided to join the houses, considering the recent events, but not a large umber of them."
[00:14] * Tabius whispers to Cicada, "Go find Lady Juniper and request and audience. If she is aboard ship ask that it is detained."
[00:14] [Cicada] Yes, my lord. At once.
[00:14] [Maris] "Anyone from the town needs to go back immediately. It is not safe for them outside of it."
[00:15] [Maris] "The spirits are going to start slaughtering any outside of the town at dawn."
[00:15] [Storyteller] The Tepet dignitary rises his eyebrow in typical Vulcan manner. "Oh?"
[00:15] * Tabius to the DB, "I want all of them ordered to report to Vanal here as soon as possible. If nothing is wrong they will continue and catch up to you.
[00:15] [Storyteller] He frowns unhappily
[00:15] * Cicada begins asking for directions to where the Mnemon delegation is. And make as much haste as possible to it.
[00:16] [Storyteller] "If that is so then I will not allow my men to be removed from my command. Our mortal brothers cannot help themselves without us here."
[00:16] [Storyteller] Cicada, roll int + Investigation
[00:16] [Cicada] (can I boost that with a virtue?)
[00:16] [Maris] "Remove all of the townsfolk and you will have no trouble leaving."
[00:16] [Storyteller] ok, with conviction
[00:17] [Cicada] (forget it. I add one sure success with one willpower point)
[00:17] [Storyteller] the fire aspect laughs. "I have lived long enough to know never to trust a spirit. Besides, there are other dangers. There are bandits about."

[00:17] [Storyteller] Cicada, 2, 2, Successes : 0
[00:17] [Tala] "Yes, we must return the townsfolk to the town. They " *she gestures to the others* "have plans for them."
[00:17] * Tala 's tone is bitter
[00:17] [Storyteller] ok cicada, you get one success, and get told that they don't think the Menemon delegation is traveling in this group.
[00:17] [Vanal] "Mind your tone, Priest."
[00:18] * Tala raises her eyebrow at Vanal's impudence
[00:18] [Vanal] "I've yet to hear any better ideas."
[00:18] [Storyteller] The dragon blooded looks at you questioningly, Vanal.
[00:18] [Maris] "That is fine. Remove the townsfolk from your group. We understand your need now. But the townsfolk will die if they leave the area."
[00:18] * Cicada starts searching for the bit... the esteemed lady.
[00:18] [Maris] "You can stay with your people we'll escort the townsfolk back.
[00:18] [Storyteller] Cicada, you can roll again at -1
[00:19] [Tala] "My tone?"
[00:19] [Cicada] (oh, great! One more willpower for a sure success)
[00:19] * Vanal looks at the DB "The townspeople have a pick fo two poor choices. either they forgo the ability to bear children...or, the spirits will butcher every last one."
[00:19] [Cicada] !exa 2
[00:19] [Storyteller] Cicada, 2, 6, Successes : 0
[00:19] [Maris] "Vanal shut up!"
[00:19] [Storyteller] Cicada: The lady Menemon is definitely not in the group
[00:19] [Vanal] "I don't like the choices myself, but it was either that, or face a razed town."
[00:19] [Maris] "That is not to be told to anyone!'
[00:19] [Storyteller] The Tepet looks unhappily at you.
[00:19] [Tala] "Do not forget that you offered to do the spirits work for those that did not like the other choice you offer."
[00:20] * Maris gives Vanal a very annoyed look.
[00:20] [Storyteller] "I have sworn my protection to all who travel under me."
[00:20] [Qet] "A razed town may be rebuilt. The dead cannot be restored to life."
[00:20] * Tabius smiles widely, "That or we bought the town another week of life, ladies and gentlemen."
[00:20] * Tala looks at Tei and Qet
[00:20] [Storyteller] "How powerful are these spirits?"
[00:20] * Vanal scowls
[00:20] [Vanal] "Powerful."
[00:22] [Maris] "We bought the town another week before the spirits attack"
[00:22] * Tabius , looks around and then heads towards the town at a run after saying, "I am going to speak with the Prefect, Vanal make sure you post guards at the gates of the city and none may pass.
[00:23] [Maris] "We must be quiet of it so the spirits do not overhear."
[00:23] * Vanal nods and summons over one of his men
[00:23] * Cicada is back where she came from and starts over again, this time asking at the town gates, not caring for the distance of the run.
[00:23] * Maris closes the distance between and whispers something in his ear.
[00:23] [Vanal] "Guards at every gate. If they're from this town, they don't leave."
[00:24] * Maris backs off and gives the leader of the group a look
[00:24] * Tala takes Qet aside privately
[00:24] [Storyteller] Cicada, roll int+ investigation
[00:24] [Maris] "Do you understand the situation now?"
[00:24] [Vanal] "If they ask why, make up a reason."
[00:24] [Cicada] (one more willpower...)
[00:24] [Storyteller] okay
[00:24] [Cicada] !ex 2
[00:24] [Storyteller] Cicada, 4, 6, Successes : 0
[00:24] [Vanal] "Got that, soldier ?"
[00:24] [Storyteller] Cicada, Lady Menemon is still within the city
[00:25] * Cicada hurries to the Mnemon quarters.
[00:25] [Qet] as he steps away with Tala "This might not go well. The people seemed eager to leave."
[00:25] [Storyteller] The Tepet does not seem pleased.
[00:25] [Maris] "Please allow us to do this."
[00:25] [Storyteller] "Are the spirits so powerful that they would dare attack us bearing house colors?"
[00:26] [Maris] "They believe they are."
[00:26] [Maris] "They openly mocked the Immaculate order in front of her.
[00:26] [Maris] "And that belief is enough to think they are invulnerable to any retribution at attacking you."
[00:26] [Storyteller] He frowns.
[00:26] * Maris motions to Tala when he says her.
[00:26] [Storyteller] he considers.
[00:27] [Storyteller] "I will let you bring them back, but I want your word you will not let them be harmed."
[00:28] [Maris] "What is your name?"
[00:28] * Maris asks seriously but not at all angrily
[00:29] [Storyteller] "Tepet Nerigus"
[00:30] [Storyteller] "And yours?"
[00:30] [Maris] "Then Tepet Nerigus I swear to you on my word that I will not let any of the townspeople be harmed."
[00:30] [Storyteller] He nods
[00:30] * Maris says solemnly to him.
[00:31] [Maris] "Now please gather them together. We have little time. I must talk to the others."
[00:31] [Tabius] (*oh you better qualify that one with, if they cooperate ;-)
[00:32] * Maris heads off to Tala and Qet immediately and goes straight to Tala's ear.
[00:32] [Storyteller] "Very well, Cynis. I will command that they follow you. But remember your word. My house still has much honor, despite the problems we have had in the past with our power."
[00:32] [Tala] [regrettably, we're not in sight]
[00:32] * Maris goes in the direction you went
[00:32] * Vanal is too busy giving his troops orders
[00:33] [Storyteller] He brings another dragon blooded to him, a water aspect, his clothes dripping wet as his anima slowly fades, who nods and begins calling to the crowd for the natives to come to him.
[00:33] [Maris] ((where are you if your not in sight.))
[00:33] [Qet] ((invisible! or just off around a corner somewhere))
[00:33] [Maris] ((you never said anything about going anywhere.))
[00:33] [Maris] ((as long as your still in the group I can get to you.
[00:34] [Maris] ((the eastern group even))
[00:34] [Storyteller] [Qet] as he steps away with Tala "This might not go well. The people seemed eager to leave."
[00:34] * Tala glances at Maris approaching
[00:34] [Maris] ((a step is hardly more then a meter.))
[00:34] [Tabius] (*Ran off to go meet with the Prefect and give him his options, then to meet with Lady Juniper if possible)

[00:35] * Qet nods to Tala . . . "I will do what I can."
[00:35] * Tala nods back
[00:35] [Maris] "I will tell you priests this once alright."
[00:36] * Maris speaks in a low voice
[00:36] [Maris] "I have no intention in seeing the town castrated. I went along with the plan so we would not appear weak in front of the spirits."
[00:37] [Maris] "It bought us another week for the Immaculate Order to get here and protect the town that is all."
[00:37] [Maris] "I will drag this out as long as necessary to keep that from happening to them."
[00:38] [Maris] "But know also if it comes down to it I would rather have them castrated then dead and I'm sure most of them would agree."
[00:38] [Qet] "But you have no intention of honoring your agreement?"
[00:38] [Vanal] (you know, making one sterile does Not necessarily mean castration)
[00:38] [Maris] "As it is it's our best option. Not the most righteous one but the best."
[00:39] [Qet] "I don't believe it is the best option. Without NEW life, they all die anyway."
[00:39] [Maris] "A small lie to save a 13000 people is nothing."
[00:39] [Maris] "Do you wish to put them all to the blade?"
[00:39] [Maris] "Or do you have a better option then that?"
[00:40] [Maris] "Because if you do tell me."
[00:40] [Qet] "But you were right to stall for time. The Order's reinforcements should arrive soon . . . 2 or 3 days."
[00:40] * Maris keeps his voice very low.
[00:40] [Maris] "Do you understand this then?"
[00:40] * Maris looks to the three of them
[00:41] [Tala] "We will see then."
[00:42] [Vanal] (Guys, I gotta go...)
[00:42] [Storyteller] (ack , well, l8r?)
[00:42] [Storyteller] (what will Vanal do)
[00:43] [Maris] "Well I suppose that's what I can expect. Get the villagers back to the town. I need to talk to Lady Miranda to make this seem real enough to the spirits so they buy it.
[00:43] [Vanal] (Um, seal off the gates, try and get some semblance of order, and go along with any plan that's better than the current one)
[00:43] [Storyteller] (ok)
[00:43] [Vanal] ('nioght)
[00:43] * Vanal (~ltermac@HSE-QuebecCity-ppp3499375.sympatico.ca) Quit (Quit: Why do the Sith always take the saying 'strike me down and I will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine' as a dare ?)
[00:43] * Vanal [~ltermac@HSE-QuebecCity-ppp3499375.sympatico.ca] has left IRC
[00:43] [Qet] "I believe this may just work."
[00:44] [Storyteller] Okay
[00:44] [Storyteller] Tabius you are at the prefect's manor now, climbing the stairs to the top of the manor
[00:46] [Tabius] Tabius will slow down and catch his breath a bit and prepare to do a good bit of convincing.
[00:46] [Tabius] Once he gets there he will of course still look Bronze and be perfectly groomed otherwise.
[00:44] * Maris nods
[00:44] [Maris] "When you get the villagers back go to the palace. I'll try to coordinate things from there.
[00:44] [Tabius] (*Is amazed that Vanal let Tabs order him around ;-) *)
[00:45] * Maris heads towards the city at a run he can keep up without much effort.
[00:45] [Qet] ((briefly wishes he could summon up a fast-moving spirit to deliver a message for him))
[00:46] [Maris] ((don't we all))
[00:47] [Qet] ((there should be some sort of device that allows one to talk to people over great distances - perhaps through wires of some sort))
[00:47] [Maris] ((that would be nice.((
[00:47] * Maris jogs to the Palace
[00:47] [Maris] Hey Tab you walk to the Palace?
[00:47] [Storyteller] Maris, you catch up with Tabius climbing up the stairs
[00:47] [Tabius] (*Nope ran :-)
[00:47] * Maris stops jogging
[00:48] [Maris] "Hey Tabius. Didn't want you to have to go this alone."
[00:48] [Maris] "I imagine Malena and her husband are going to be pissed.
[00:48] * Maris seems a little out of breath but well composed.
[00:48] * Tabius smiles at Maris politely, "Well seeing as your here I guess it would be impolite to ask you to wait outside?"
[00:50] [Maris] "We should definitely go in there with two of us. Malena might lose her temper if it's just one."
[00:50] [Tabius] "Loose her temper and do what?"
[00:50] [Storyteller] You have been able to determine, through discussing with the guards, that lady Malena and her husband are in their private quarters.
[00:50] * Maris gives Tabius a companionable pat on the shoulder a friendly smile and heads right up the stairs before answering.
[00:51] * Maris will go knock on the door rather loudly
[00:51] [Tabius] \me doesn't bother to let Maris get ahead of him.
[00:51] * Qet makes his way to the palace at a more leisurely rate, no longer overtly concerned about his message
[00:51] * Tala quietly helps reverse the exodus. She remains silent, just helping people carry things, and what-not. She has no reassuring words to offer
[00:52] [Storyteller] You climb the stairways towards the upper levels, passing through the gardens with little resistance.
[00:53] * Tala goes to the palace
[00:54] * Maris keeps going towards the bedrooms
[00:54] [Storyteller] Eventually you are at their private doors. A quick rap on the door results in meeting face to face with Lady V'neef, who opens it for you. Inside you can see the prefect and malena inside. The prefect lies on his bed, bandaged.
[00:55] * Maris bows to Lady V'neef, "I apologize for interrupting you. But we have important news."
[00:55] * Tabius looks at Lady V'neef and bows slightly.
[00:55] [Storyteller] She looks questioningly at you with her eyebrows raised.
[00:55] [Maris] "May we come in?"
[00:55] * Tabius "Might the old Lord also be about?"
[00:55] * Maris asks the last to Malena
[00:56] [Storyteller] They say nothing
[00:56] [Maris] !ex 4
[00:56] [Storyteller] Maris, 4, 1, 9, 2, Successes : 1
[00:56] [Storyteller] V'neef looks at them, and then quickly pushes you out the door, closing it behind you three
[00:57] * Maris lets her with no question
[00:57] * Tabius has fire in his eyes, "Yes maddam?"
[00:57] [Storyteller] "What! Nobody told you?"
[00:57] [Storyteller] She looks angry
[00:57] [Maris] "Tammanah is at the Mines."
[00:57] [Storyteller] "Tammanah is dead."
[00:57] [Maris] "Ah."
[00:57] [Maris] "We have just come back to the city. We had no idea."
[00:58] * Qet finally approaches barely within earshot of the conversation
[00:58] [Storyteller] "He was buried in a landslide in the quarry."
[00:58] * Tala finds a secluded spot near the pools in the garden. She sits waist deep near the edge of one, her heavy heart weighing her down and tries to relax and make her heart and mind as clear and calm as the water
[00:58] [Tabius] "However, this news does not change our news, which is almost equally as bad."
[00:58] [Maris] "It is a tragedy."
[00:58] * Maris says with a sorrowful look.
[00:59] [Storyteller] She continues to look angrily. "Must is bother them so?"
[00:59] * Tabius still has fire in his eyes as his conviction for this cause is strong.
[00:59] [Storyteller] "You can at least try to deal with it yourselves."
[00:59] [Maris] "If they are to keep there town from being annihilated yes."
[00:59] [Storyteller] She looks at you unhappily. "And so?"
[00:59] [Tabius] "The survival of every man woman and child in this town hinges on it."
[01:00] [Maris] "And we could but I doubt they would accept us taking over the city temporarily without talk."
[01:00] [Storyteller] She waves her hand. "I will deal with the protection of the city for the moment. They need time to recover. What is it that presses you so?"
[01:00] [Maris] "Has the Prefect given you this right then?"
[01:01] * Maris asks questioningly.
[01:01] [Storyteller] "For the time"
[01:01] [Tala] (make that waist)
[01:01] [Storyteller] Tala, it is very difficult. roll willpower.
[01:01] [Tala] !ex 6
[01:01] [Storyteller] Tala, 4, 3, 10, 5, 5, 8, Successes : 3
[01:02] [Maris] "I would like to talk to him as well. If he is to be prefect he will need to deal with stressful times."
[01:02] [Storyteller] Tala you are able to find peace despite the noise and bustle of the city.
[01:03] * Tabius touches Maris's hand lightly.
[01:03] * Qet finally approaches the group, moving unconsciously quietly, "I would like to speak with him as well."
[01:04] [Storyteller] Lady V'neef shakes her head. "You may speak with me, I will deal with these problems."
[01:05] * Maris nods to her, "As you wish it. Though I would ask to offer my condolences to the Prefect and Lady personally. I knew his father and am sorrowful at his loss."
[01:05] [Storyteller] she nods
[01:05] [Storyteller] "You may speak with him about such things, but more bad news is not something they need."
[01:05] * Maris nods to her.
[01:05] [Tabius] "Its actually good news and bad news.
[01:06] [Storyteller] "The good news for them. The bad news for me."
[01:06] [Maris] "Tabius please inform the Lady V'neef on what has occurred. I will return shortly."
[01:06] * Maris says with as he seems to take a breath and move to enter the doorway.
[01:07] [Tabius] "They come hand in hand Lady and I would see the Prefect of my own houses Prefecture to inform him of such.
[01:07] [Storyteller] [Maris are you trying to go past the lady?]
[01:07] [Storyteller] She looks at you uncompromisingly
[01:07] * Maris is merely trying to enter the chamber as she said he could.
[01:08] [Storyteller] "Truly, then you should be able to take matters into your own hands."
[01:08] [Qet] "It is important that the Pre-. . . you, Lady V'neef, know that the Order has pledged to help remedy this situation in any way possible. The dispatched priests will be here any day now."
[01:08] [Storyteller] Very well, Maris, she lets you past. You open the door to the room and walk inside. She gives you a remembering glance.
[01:08] * Maris nods and closes the door so the speech won't get in.
[01:09] * Maris walks toward the two of them and bows low to both of them, "I am greatly sorry for your loss."
[01:10] [Storyteller] The prefect lies motionless on the bed and Malena merely looks at you with sad eyes.
[01:10] [Maris] "Are you both well?"
[01:10] * Maris asks concerned
[01:11] [Storyteller] The prefect laughs. "As well as I can be." Malena smiles, sickeningly sad, and puts her hand on his chest.
[01:11] [Maris] "I see you have appointed V'neef to run the city while you grieve then?"
[01:12] [Maris] ((can I get this answer before they come in?))
[01:12] [Storyteller] yea
[01:12] [Maris] ((coo))
[01:13] [Storyteller] "Indeed; she has been most helpful in guiding the city during our absence."
[01:13] * Maris nods
[01:09] * Tabius looks to Qet, "Thank you good sir for that information."
[01:09] [Storyteller] She nods. "The prefect will be happy to know that. I will tell him of it. You may as well; but like I said, I wish them no more pain in this dark hour."
[01:10] [Qet] [[I’ve got about 5 more mins so . . .]]
[01:11] * Qet , having said what he came to say, retires to outside the palace to await Maris' & Tabius' exit
[01:11] * Tabius to the Lady, "So be it, he has had enough grief over this incident as it is."
[01:11] * Tala emerges from the water more relaxed and at peace, but still lacking a peaceful solution. She dons her robe again and goes inside
[01:11] [Storyteller] [[hmm I will see you soon then, I will likely have Qet leave with whatever message he has for the IO]]
[01:12] [Qet] [[aye, later all]]
[01:12] [Storyteller] She nods. "I will be happy to discuss the bad news away from the prefect later." she opens the door, and goes in with you."
[01:12] [Tabius] (*Later*)
[01:12] * Qet (~aaron@1Cust6.tnt13.tpa2.da.uu.net) has left #pvpexalted
[01:13] [Storyteller] "... our absence." as you walk in.
[01:13] * Maris nods
[01:13] [Maris] "Well I have good news for you at least."
[01:13] [Maris] "We have been able to convince the spirits to stay their attack."
[01:14] [Storyteller] Malena nods, and the prefect gives a short nod as well. "This is good news."
[01:14] [Maris] "The terms weren't ideal but we have more then enough time for the Immaculate Order to get here and renegotiate."
[01:14] [Storyteller] "They will make it here on time?"
[01:14] * Tabius frowns when Maris mentions ideal.
[01:15] [Maris] "And they are coming as well. A messenger has just arrived to tell us this."
[01:15] [Storyteller] V'neef nods
[01:16] * Maris bows to them again, "I can not tell you how greatly sorry I am for your loss. If you need anything please ask.'
[01:16] [Tabius] "They should arrive in 2-3 days according to the priest, while we have bought the city a weeks stay."
[01:16] [Storyteller] "A week only?"
[01:16] [Storyteller] V'neef looks at you sharply
[01:16] [Tabius] "As long as its longer than the time it takes the Order to get here it will be long enough Lord.
[01:17] * Maris gives Tabius a look, "We will talk of specifics later. The Prefect and Lady need to be left alone to their grief."
[01:17] * Maris says the last to V'neef
[01:17] [Storyteller] "Thank you," says the prefect.
[01:17] [Maris] ((well both to both of them really.))
[01:17] [Tabius] "Of course, please excuse us Prefect, and my condolences to you both."
[01:18] * Maris bows once more and leaves the room.
[01:18] [Storyteller] V'neef rises
[01:18] * Tabius does a swift bow, then a swift about-face, then leaves.
[01:18] [Storyteller] Malena gives her thanks as well
[01:18] [Storyteller] V'neef follows you out, closing the door behind you
[00:26] [Storyteller] You arrive at the Menemon house. Her banners still fly from it's spires, as the house is large and well built, despite it's relative seclusion
[00:27] [Cicada] I run to the main entrance, presents myself, and request an audience with Lady Juniper on behalf of my lord Katchak Tabius.
[00:28] [Storyteller] One of her servants greet you, and instruct you to sit.
[00:29] [Cicada] I sit down to wait, only fidgeting a 'little'.
[00:30] [Storyteller] "What is your purpose for asking for the lady?" you are asked by the same servant. His robe is pure white, but embroidered with a quiet, geometric design with black thread."
[00:31] [Cicada] My lord Cathak Tabius has expressed the desire to see her ladyship Mnemon Juniper as soon as possible about a matter concerning this entire city and everyone in it.
[00:33] [Storyteller] He nods, and turns. "I will tell her of the request." he leaves, passing through a elaborately carved door in the far wall. The room is small, but not constricting, and well decorated. it is clearly a waiting room of some sort, or a lobby.
[00:35] [Storyteller] The minutes tick by
[00:35] [Cicada] I remain kneeling on one knee on the floor in front of the door. Not moving even an inch.
[00:36] [Storyteller] Eventually he opens the door, returning. "Her lordship will speak to you now."
[00:37] [Cicada] My and my lord's thanks. Please show the way.
[00:37] [Storyteller] He gestures for you to walk beside him, standing by the door.
[00:38] [Cicada] I follow.
[00:40] [Storyteller] He closes the door behind you and walks down a long hall. Eventually he comes to a stairway and you both walk up it. He asks "How long have you been serving for your lord?"
[00:40] [Storyteller] The hall and stairway is made of carved wood and various pictures have been affixed of excellent quality.
[00:41] [Cicada] I have the honor of serving my exalted lord for almost six years.
[00:43] [Storyteller] He nods, and you finish climbing the stairs. It continues upwards, but you move along a new hallway instead. Similarly decorated, and with sheets of various colors draping over some of the doorways, and above the ceiling. "From a child then? You are not so old."
[00:44] [Cicada] Yes, my lord showed me great honor by accepting me into his service in spite of my youth and inexperience.
[00:44] [Storyteller] He nods and stops at a door.
[00:45] [Storyteller] "Lady Menemon waits inside."
[00:45] [Storyteller] He knocks on the door
[00:45] [Cicada] "Thank you for your time."
[00:45] [Storyteller] He nods, opening the door.
[00:47] [Cicada] I step inside.
[00:47] [Storyteller] Lady Menemon sits in a chair at what appears to be a dressing mirror. A stool in another corner. She watches you with a neutral expression on her face as you look at her room. It is well decorated, but still somehow simple. Still, obvious marks of her career as a sorcerer can be found, as thick tomes lie carefully stacked on a dresser.
[00:47] [Storyteller] He closes the door behind you and menemon nods for you to sit
[00:49] [Cicada] Bowing first by the door, I enter the room. As I walk closer I never take my eyes from hers. Then a respectful distance from her I drop on one knee, and bow my head.
[00:49] [Cicada] "I have come with a message from my lord Cathak Tabius."
[00:49] [Storyteller] She nods at you on the floor. "Speak."
[00:50] [Cicada] "My lord, hopes that you will see him about a matter of great importance for the security of this city."
[00:50] [Storyteller] She nods slowly. "When does he hope to meet?"
[00:51] [Cicada] "I beg your indulgence Lady Mnemon, but my lord desires to meet at the earliest convenient time."
[00:52] [Storyteller] She nods patiently. "I will await him one hour from now; afterwards I shall have to attend to other duties." she says with a faraway look in her eyes
[00:53] [Cicada] I keep my head down all the time to hide the look of scorn on my face and tries to suppress the light shaking of my hands as I speak to her.
[00:54] [Cicada] "Thank you Lady Mnemon, I shall bring him your message immediately, with your permission."
[00:54] [Storyteller] She nods and waves you away.
[00:55] [Cicada] I rise and back out of the door while bowing.
[00:56] [Storyteller] The servant closes the door behind you and guides you from the room.
[00:57] [Cicada] Thanking him again I give a light bow and then runs off to find my lord. (unless he asks me more questions)
[00:58] [Storyteller] He will let you leave with no problems
[00:58] [Cicada] Off to find my lord and tell him he has got a date.
[00:59] [Storyteller] heh
[01:00] [Cicada] How long time does it take me to locate him?
[01:00] [Storyteller] not long, but they need to get in temporal sync
[01:00] [Storyteller] you're ahead in time of them
[01:01] [Cicada] Ok, just give me the go ahead when the time is right.
[01:01] [Storyteller] ok
[01:19] [Maris] "I am sorry to have interrupted you Tabius. Please tell Lady V'neef of the deal you have helped create."
[01:19] * Maris says backing off a little
[01:19] * Tabius continues to walk slowly.
[01:20] * Tabius finds a set of stones where the three of them can sit but still watch the door.
[01:20] [Storyteller] there are no such stones; you are inside the tower
[01:20] [Tabius] (*DOH!)
[01:20] [Storyteller] you may sit on stairs; or if you wish for stones, you must at least leave the tower and travel to the rooftop garden.
[01:20] [Storyteller] however there are obvious guards around here
[01:21] [Maris] "Shall we retire to a study?'
[01:21] * Tabius turns around after a short distance, perhaps 10 feet and looks from Maris to the Lady.
[01:21] * Maris asks as Tabius seems to look about."
[01:21] * Cicada comes running towards Tabius and the group with him, slightly winded. She drops to one knee and with bowed head awaits the permission to speak.
[01:22] [Tabius] "Speak cautiously Sable, the Prefect has lost a father."
[01:23] [Cicada] "Wha..? Yes, my lord, I understand."
[01:23] [Cicada] My lord, I bring a message from the lady Mnemon Juniper."
[01:23] [Tabius] "Please give it to me."
[01:24] * Cicada eyes the other people in the group.
[01:24] [Tabius] "Or is it not written?"
[01:25] [Storyteller] present are: Lady V'neef, several guards scattered around, Maris, Tala, Tabius, and Cicada
[01:25] [Cicada] "It is not, my lord."
[01:25] [Tabius] !ex 11
[01:25] [Storyteller] Tabius, 9, 10, 2, 3, 10, 3, 8, 4, 3, 4, 5, Successes : 6
[01:27] * Tabius seems to be thinking and is looking at Cicada but not at Cicada.
[01:28] [Tabius] "Is the answer yes or no? Near or Far?
[01:28] * Maris shakes his head at strange sorcerer’s codes.
[01:28] [Cicada] "My lord, yes and near."
[01:29] [Tabius] "Thank you."
[01:30] * Maris looks to a guard, "Is there a study where we can talk nearby?"
[01:30] * Maris motions to the exalted as he says we.
[01:30] [Storyteller] The guard nods, and offers to give you directions to one on the highest floor of the manor (not the tower)
[01:31] [Maris] "Why don't we head there and talk."
[01:31] [Tabius] "An excellent idea.
[01:31] [Maris] "There isn't much need to stand here at the moment."
[01:31] * Maris looks to Lady V'neef for confirmation.
[01:31] [Storyteller] V'neef agrees
[01:31] * Maris leads the way according to the directions
[01:32] * Tabius Tabius follows at the rear with Cicada.
[01:32] [Storyteller] you find your way to a quiet study [but remember that you all still have quarters in the manor] and find it to be quiet and well tended, and most importantly, discreet.
[01:33] * Tabius in a whisper to Sable, "Please convey that I may be a little far away, but will make my best effort in this important matter."
[01:33] * Maris opens the doors and takes a seat in on of the chairs.
[01:33] * Tabius once there follows suite, but sits in the most politically potent spot available.
[01:33] [Maris] !ex 4
[01:33] [Storyteller] Maris, 10, 7, 5, 2, Successes : 3
[01:34] [Maris] Oops Maris already took that one. Funny how that worked really.
[01:34] [Storyteller] lol
[01:34] [Tala] [bah, Even in times like this, Tab is trying to score]
[01:35] [Storyteller] [you people are great]
[01:35] [Tala] [*pop*]
[01:35] [Storyteller] V'neef sits somewhere out of the way but complements her outfit
[01:35] [Maris] [wanna roll init to see who got it first?))
[01:35] * Tabius drops his saddle back on a table, takes out pen and parchment, takes a small piece and writes a note down in a way that the others can't see and gives it to Cicada.
[01:35] [Storyteller] [you're leading. more like a perception + bureaucracy]
[01:35] [Maris] !ex 3
[01:35] [Storyteller] Maris, 10, 2, 4, Successes : 2
[01:36] [Storyteller] !ex 12
[01:36] [Storyteller] Storyteller, 5, 7, 5, 3, 9, 2, 8, 7, 4, 7, 1, 9, Successes : 6
[01:36] * Cicada takes the note, puts it inside her tunic, then bows and backs out of the room.
[01:36] [Tabius] (*You want me to roll to? I was only semi serious about getting it before Vneef?
[01:37] [Storyteller] (lol you can if you want)
[01:37] [Maris] ((I really don't think there’s one chair. I think each of us has their one power chair.))
[01:37] [Maris] ((or power place even))
[01:37] [Maris] ((and I was just messing around myself really))
[01:37] * Cicada closes the door behind her and then races off to the Mnemon's house again.
[01:38] [Storyteller] you run through the streets and find them still very chaotic, as throngs of people begin building up at the gates again
[01:38] [Storyteller] however it is not very difficult to get back to Menemon's house. it has now been about 30 minutes since you spoke with her.
[01:39] [Cicada] Actually I would like to change that to finding Vanal first.
[01:39] [Storyteller] ok
[01:39] [Cicada] Can I locate him?
[01:39] [Storyteller] You roll wits + investigation
[01:39] [Cicada] Damn you....
[01:40] [Cicada] One willpower.
[01:40] [Storyteller] how's your nature holding up?
[01:40] [Storyteller] you quickly discover that Lord Vanal is at the east gate
[01:40] [Cicada] If I spend one more point I limitbreak.
[01:41] [Storyteller] that would be bad. explain to me how this fits your nature and I’ll give you a spare WP
[01:41] [Cicada] I try to get a word with Vanal alone. Secret orders from Tabius...
[01:42] [Storyteller] Vanal looks at you questioningly but takes you to a back room. A huge mob is gathered around his men, who have walled themselves across the gate to prevent anyone from climbing over it.
[01:42] [Cicada] Fits martyr....? I don't know... Mercilessly running herself into the ground?
[01:42] [Cicada] "Sir Cathak, I have brought you a request from my lord."
[01:43] [Storyteller] He looks at you questioningly. "A request, you say? You had best hurry, I am rather, occupied."
[01:43] [Storyteller] he waves towards the mob
[01:44] [Cicada] My lord requests that you send him his fang to his location [insert where I left him]. And that you prepare your forces to fight V'neef for controll of the city."
[01:45] [Storyteller] He looks at you questioningly. "He suspects lady V'neef will take this city by force?"
[01:46] [Cicada] "Sir Cathak, my lord would not make this kind of request if he only 'suspected'."
[01:46] [Storyteller] He nods.
[01:46] [Storyteller] "When does he expect it?"
[01:46] [Cicada] "Apparently soon."
[01:47] [Storyteller] He nods
[01:48] [Storyteller] "Very well, I will prepare my men." he looks ponderously. "I don't suppose you could bring the message to others?
[01:48] [Storyteller] [under his command]
[01:48] [Cicada] "Sir Cathak, I could."
[01:50] [Storyteller] He nods, and gives you directions to find six of his officers at other gates, as well as two stationed inside the city; one at the barracks previously maintained, and one across town from there
[01:51] [Cicada] * Cicada runs to find them and deliver the orders. In order to avoid the crowds she climbs to the rooftops and leap from house to house, ignoring the danger to herself.
[01:52] [Storyteller] okay dex+athletics
[01:52] [Storyteller] do it five more times
[01:55] [Storyteller] very well you have no problem with your massive acrobatics of leaping across many, many houses, and I’ll mark you down for stunt bonus somewhere.. meh I’m gay. anyhow, let us continue. You deliver your message to Vanal's lieutenanats with little problem, however by the time you do that, an hour will have passed, and you would not be able to give menemon her message if it was meant to arrive to her before Tabius met with her?
[01:55] [Cicada] Done lowest 4 successes, highest 8 successes.
[01:55] * Storyteller saw
[01:56] [Cicada] Hmm, I am going to run to the Mnemon house anyway (over the rooftops) and just hope my lord keeps time.
[01:56] [Storyteller] ok
[01:57] [Storyteller] unless you want to inject dropping off the message to her earlier, which I’ll allow
[01:58] [Cicada] If possible that would be great.
[01:58] [Storyteller] okay
[01:59] [Storyteller] but you won't be able to give it to her directly. you can drop it off with a servant.
[02:00] [Cicada] The "Might be late, but will do my best to meet the fair lady Mnenmon whom I long to see message.
[02:00] [Storyteller] ok
[02:00] [Storyteller] the servant will bring the message to the lady but will not allow you to see her, saying she is preoccupied.
[02:01] [Cicada] Oh dear... She is 'preparing'! Will my lord survive the ecstasy?
[02:01] [Storyteller] lol
[02:03] [Cicada] Still Cicada will try to get there in time for the appointment.
[02:03] [Storyteller] you'll show up an hour after Tabius
[02:04] [Cicada] My lord gets an HOUR alone with Juniper, who has 'prepared'! Will my lord survive the ecstasy?
[02:04] [Storyteller] unless you want to hold off on delivering the messages,...
[02:04] * Storyteller chuckles
[02:05] [Storyteller] Tabius gonna get the hanky panky?
[02:05] [Cicada] The military ones? No way!
[02:05] [Storyteller] okay
[01:38] [Maris] "Anyways Tabius please continue now."
[01:38] * Tabius after writing the note chooses to remain standing, "There is a problem that this city faces, Genocide, in one form or another."
[01:39] [Storyteller] V'neef smiles sourly. "I'm glad you kept your mouth shut."
[01:40] [Cicada] !ex 3
[01:40] [Storyteller] Cicada, 2, 3, 8, Successes : 1
[01:40] * Tala simply stands, listening.
[01:41] * Tabius looks at the lady with all but a blank face and continues, "The word is apt, but hardly conversational as this is a discussion of the facts. The week has 1 week to choose to be sterilized having no more offspring or be attacked by a horde of spirits intent on their deaths, the dragon we road here on but one of the powerful ones."
[01:41] [Storyteller] ah you found them Tala?
[01:41] [Tabius] (*first week should be Town)
[01:42] [Tabius] (*and I love the way I quickly typed Road :-) *)
[01:42] [Maris] "Well it's more like we have a week to show them that we could sterilize them."
[01:42] [Tala] (you said I was with them)
[01:42] [Storyteller] She shakes her head sadly.
[01:42] [Maris] "We have to put this town under military control within the week."
[01:43] [Storyteller] "I saw the beast out the window. Fortunately the lady Malena did not notice."
[01:43] * Tabius smiles at Maris.
[01:43] [Storyteller] (very well)
[01:43] [Maris] "That should be sufficient for the Priests to get here and us to figure out a better plan."
[01:44] [Maris] "That should be sufficient for the Priests to get here and us to figure out a better plan."
[01:44] [Tabius] "A better plan is to figure out some way to break the bond that the Anethema Markol has on these people, but short the Empress showing up and telling us that is not likely to happen.
[01:44] [Maris] ((forget the second version of that.))
[01:44] [Maris] "As it is we have to capture him and put him in stasis."
[01:45] [Tala] "And how will we accomplish that deed?"
[01:45] [Tabius] "That or go speak to the Unconquered Sun!"
[01:45] * Maris rolls his eyes at the last.
[01:45] [Maris] "Better to think of the immediate right now."
[01:46] [Storyteller] [hell if you even know who the unconquered sun is]
[01:46] [Maris] "If we have to we can sterilize the city to prevent a war."
[01:46] [Tabius] "The possibility of capturing him is good since we defeated him earlier when he was prepared for us."
[01:46] [Storyteller] V'neef shakes her head sadly
[01:46] [Maris] "But that is a final option."
[01:46] [Tabius] (*Just repeating whatever Feathers said we could do ;-) *)
[01:47] [Tala] "But you forget our promise to put him in stasis."
[01:47] [Maris] "We'll figure that out too.'
[01:47] [Maris] "It can't be too hard. They did it before."
[01:48] [Tabius] "The stasis problem will shortly be either taken care of or become an impossibility as status and be made into constant sedation and constraint."
[01:49] [Tala] "Sedation and restraint? "
[01:49] * Maris shrugs, "Better then nothing."
[01:49] [Tala] (make that 'con' not 're')
[01:50] [Tabius] "You know how someone gets when they are very dunk, sedated. Restraint would be Jade chains and shackles with his eyes removed.
[01:51] [Maris] "We could even castrate him if you want." Maris says with a slight laugh to break some tension."
[01:51] [Tala] "I know what the words mean, I was simply wondering how you planed to sedate one with endurance and strength granted by a god."

[01:52] [Storyteller] Cicada, 2, 7, 1, 1, 10, 7, 5, 4, Successes : 4
[01:52] [Maris] "I'm sure you priests can figure something out."
[01:53] [Tabius] "while he is restrained stick a thorn into his skin, connected to a hollow reed and pour the poison in constantly.
[01:53] [Maris] "Though the way you talk you seem to think killing them all is the best option Tala."

[01:55] * Maris looks to see if there's any drinks in the study.
[01:55] * Tabius to lady V'neef, "What is your opinion of this matter?"
[01:55] [Storyteller] There are no drinks in the study. It's a study
[01:56] [Maris] ((hey sometimes they put drinks in studies))
[01:56] [Tala] "Because I don't think shooting arrows into the shadows in hopes of hitting something are the right way to deal with our problem?"
[01:56] [Maris] "Then tell us a better way Tala."
[01:56] * Maris says looking at her again.
[01:56] [Tabius] !ex 11
[01:56] [Storyteller] Tabius, 4, 8, 7, 3, 6, 1, 6, 3, 6, 2, 2, Successes : 2
[01:56] [Storyteller] V'neef says "We cannot allow the spirits to do as they plan. The Blooded here will surely fight rather than allow such injustice to occur."
[01:56] [Maris] "I'd dearly like to know them.
[01:57] [Maris] "If that is what you wish to do."
[01:57] [Tabius] (*ARG, why is it table top I never roll this bad, EVER?)
[01:57] [Maris] "The Immaculates will hopefully be able to give us enough power to do so."
[01:57] [Storyteller] (sometimes they have drinks in studies, but generally you bring drinks to studies. you could find a servant to bring you drinks if you want)
[01:58] [Maris] "And the spirits themselves will tell us where any of the ancestors are that aren't in the tower if we convince them we mean to make good on our promise."
[01:58] [Maris] "Though the spirits seem to think they could take us in a fight."
[01:59] [Maris] "Though I am no expert on them at all."
[01:59] [Tala] "That is the greatest flaw in this plan."
[02:00] [Storyteller] V'neef nods. "How powerful was the spirit force?"
[02:00] * Maris looks to Tala, "You were the one to see them."
[02:00] [Tala] "That we think all those who have descended from those who inhabited this town in the time of the Anathema's reign can be found and 'delt with'"
[02:00] [Maris] "The spirits think they know."
[02:01] [Maris] "If we deal with all the ones the Spirits know of they will be content."
[02:01] [Tala] "I counted fifty-two. A handful held the form of dragons, a sign of great power among spirits.
[02:01] [Tabius] "This all depends on what the Leader of the Order coming to our aid has to think, of course."
[02:01] [Tala] "Yet it will solve nothing if the spirits are right."
[02:01] [Tabius] "
[02:01] [Maris] "It's their hubris to think they know where all the ancestors are. not ours."
[02:01] [Storyteller] V'neef looks askew. "I see... it will be a very difficult fight."
[02:02] [Tabius] "If a fight is needed at all. We all must find a way out of this peacefully or nothing will be gained and I fear much will be lost.
[02:02] [Tala] "If the spirits are correct, then all we do will be for naught if any are left."
[02:02] [Tabius] "I only suggested this plan because I hoped to get a few months of time from Feather, but he gave us a week."
[02:03] [Maris] "We will save the town."
[02:03] [Maris] "And hopefully the anathema will stay in stasis for all eternity."
[02:03] [Maris] "That's good enough for me."
[02:05] * Tabius stows his writing tools in his saddle bag and puts it over his shoulder, "Ladies, Maris, I have other preparations to make before speaking with the Prefect on this matter. I bid you farewell."
[02:05] [Tala] [3am]
[02:05] [Storyteller] Lady V'neef nods
[02:05] [Storyteller] [Indeed it is]
[02:06] [Storyteller] [whom here wants to hit the big 'ol pause button?]
[02:06] [Tabius] (*this is a good place to stop*)
[02:06] * Maris is fine to go on but can't rightly do so if the st say to stop
[02:07] * Storyteller 's fine for now
[02:07] [Tabius] (*I have a meeting that I could RP, but without some of the other players around going much forward with anything is not a wise idea."
[02:07] * Cicada can go on. She is just starting to wake up.
[02:07] * Storyteller could just play army with AngelHikari2000
[02:08] [Storyteller] but ...
[02:08] * Maris has a few more things to talk with V'neef about.
[02:08] [Cicada] [Wanna die some more?]
[02:08] [Storyteller] In any case, Tabius has to leave this meeting
[02:08] [Storyteller] [ya I got pretty good last night :D]
[02:08] * Tabius leaves for his meeting.
[02:08] [Storyteller] Tala if you want to sleep, then Maris has to quit too
[02:09] * Maris snaps his fingers
[02:09] [Storyteller] unless you want t totally break up the V'neef meeting
[02:09] [Storyteller] or I could just NPC Tala but I’m bad at NPCing [looks at all the people he didn't NPC]
[02:10] * Maris has nothing Tala needs to stay for. Just talk of what V'neef will do and seeing if it would be a good idea to investigate Tammanah's death right now.
[02:10] [Storyteller] ok
[02:10] [Maris] He just wants to make sure V'neef will be going along with their plan for now and imposing martial law on the city.
[02:10] [Storyteller] she will
[02:11] [Maris] He'd prefer if he was there to help oversee things but knows that most likely Malkor is behind Tammanah's death and that will need to dealt with.
[02:11] * Maris isn't going to say all this.
[02:11] [Maris] well not the last anyways
[02:12] [Storyteller] ok
[02:12] [Storyteller] So you want to investigate Tammanah's death, you'll have to go out and ride to the quarry, which is about six hours away
[02:12] * Maris will also tell Lady V'neef that he would love to dance with her again sometime and offer her his services in anything she should require.
[02:13] [Maris] Ah I didn't plan on going alone.
[02:13] [Maris] But what time of day is it?
[02:13] [Storyteller] heh
[02:13] [Storyteller] it's probably around 2 pm, but you only had 3 hours of sleep
[02:13] * Maris has no plans of facing any anathema or demons alone.
[02:13] [Storyteller] V'neef liked dancing too, apparently
[02:14] * Maris leaves the appropriate amount of flirtation in the air to show he's interested but doesn't do anything overt to say so.
[02:14] * Storyteller nods
[02:14] [Maris] I have nothing further after that.
[02:14] [Storyteller] very well...
[02:14] [Maris] We can pause at two or I can just get some sleep.
[02:15] [Maris] But I'll see you all next week then.
[02:15] [Storyteller] l8r
[02:15] * Maris (bjorndabas@user-2ivfj65.dialup.mindspring.com) Quit (Quit: )
[02:16] [Storyteller] okay
[02:16] [Storyteller] Tala?
[02:16] [Tala] Was waiting to see whether we were stopping
[02:16] [Tabius] (later
[02:16] [Storyteller] not really stopping, I've just got some things to finish off with tabius
[02:16] [Storyteller] But unless you have anything else then I Guess I'm done with ya, gg
[02:17] [Tala] gnight
[02:17] [Storyteller] g'night
[02:17] * Tala (~Werlynn@ool-182ded4e.dyn.optonline.net) Quit (Quit: )
[02:17] [Cicada] [good night]
[02:17] [Tabius] (*Darn to late)
[02:18] * Tabius all but runs to the Mnemon abode.
[02:19] [Storyteller] okay Tabius you're making your way to the madame's house. you see no Cicada there are you enter what seems to be a well decorated waiting room. You were here before, I believe, with the Menemon party & Gateway match?
[02:19] [Storyteller] You notice large mobs moving about
[02:19] [Storyteller] but fortunately are not mobbed and see no one mobbed
[02:20] [Storyteller] but that's outside
[02:20] * Tabius smiles as he sees the room but seems distracted by the mob.
[02:20] [Storyteller] inside the room you are not accosted by mobs, but are asked your name and purpose by an attractive young woman in a completely white gown, except for a black, geometric pattern on her dress.
[02:20] [Storyteller] there are other servants there as well
[02:21] [Storyteller] you have five minutes before your meeting
[02:21] [Tabius] "Cathak Tabius to see Mnemon Juniper.
[02:21] [Storyteller] "Ahhh," she smiles graciously. "Please, walk beside me."
[02:22] [Storyteller] She walks over to a carved doorway in one of the walls and opens it to reveal a hallway
[02:22] * Tabius does as she asks.
[02:23] [Storyteller] She walks with Tabius down a long hallway well decorated with paintings and various carvings. After that there is a stairway that goes up several floors; however you only go up one, and then down another hallway, this one decorated similarly only with curtains and colored silk cloths in addition to the paintings.
[02:24] * Tabius admires the paintings.
[02:25] [Storyteller] Near the middle of the hall the servant stops besides a doorway and gestures. "Madame Juniper is inside." and she knocks on the door.
[02:25] [Storyteller] Juniper says "come in"
[02:25] [Storyteller] She steps aside with a smile.
[02:25] * Tabius opens the door and does so.
[02:25] * Tabius once inside he bows respectfully.
[02:27] [Tabius] 'My Lady, how does the afternoon find you?
[02:27] [Storyteller] Menemon Juniper smiles and gestures for you to sit in a carved chair. It fits you perfectly, and you suspect she has been watching you. You seem to be in her personal quarters; there is a bed against the far wall and a drawers upon which books are stacked. She sits in a chair opposite to that one, with a small coffee table between them and two teacups arranged as so.
[02:28] [Storyteller] "I am well, although I find the events over the last few days disheartening. And how are you, Tabius?"
[02:28] * Tabius sits, arranges himself because he still has a sword at his side, and then smiles back at her.
[02:29] [Tabius] "To be truthful my lady, I am tired. The last days have been a constant drain on me physically and mentally. However, I am up for the challenge and eager to see them concluded."
[02:30] [Storyteller] She nods.
[02:30] [Storyteller] "Your servant told me you wished to discuss something of great importance?"
[02:31] [Tabius] "Yes. It seems that this town is slated for genocide by the spirits in power in the surrounding area."
[02:31] [Storyteller] Her black hair is braided in one large braid today, lying carefully behind her. She takes a sip of her tea as you speak; you notice your cup is filled as well.
[02:32] [Storyteller] "After the events of the last week, I am sad to say that I am not as surprised as I should be."
[02:32] [Tabius] "Vanal, myself, my servant, Tala and Tie of the Order, Cynis Maris, and some others out into the forests.
[02:32] [Tabius] "traveled trying to find the lead spirit that is heading up the majority of the trouble."
[02:33] [Storyteller] she nods for you to continue
[02:33] [Tabius] "After fighting 8 blood apes and a Bone Lion we made it to FeatherslitstheRain and had a very pointed conversation with him.
[02:34] [Storyteller] she looks aghast when you speak of blood apes but nods
[02:34] [Tabius] "It seems that the Anathema that was set free when the bandits attacked the Temple can posses any body that is of a descendent of the original towns folk here, back in the first age.
[02:34] [Storyteller] "That is the spirit suspected of the assassination attempt?"
[02:35] [Tabius] "Yes."
[02:35] [Storyteller] She nods, pondering.
[02:35] [Storyteller] "Bandits attacked the temple? I had not heard that."
[02:35] [Tabius] "The spirits wish to not let the Anathema Malkor exact whatever revenge he plans on the Blessed Isle by KILLING every descendent."
[02:36] [Storyteller] she shakes her head sadly.
[02:36] [Storyteller] "How much do you know about Malkor?"
[02:37] [Tabius] "The total is around 14000 souls in all I believe, maybe a little shy. I know he is a Sorcerer of great power from the first age, likely why we met a Bone Lion in the forests."
[02:37] [Tabius] "I proposed a compromise to the spirits in an effort to buy both time and a chance to not have everybody killed tomorrow."
[02:38] [Storyteller] She laughs. "Malkor was never a sorcerer. He could never see the world the way a sorcerer could, not even on the level as you or I. If you fought a bone lion, I can assure you that it was not he who summoned it."
[02:38] [Storyteller] She smiles. "That is good for the city."
[02:41] [Tabius] "Instead of a day, the City has 7 days to round all the decendence up and begin the process of making them infertile, to the last child. We must capture the Anathema and force it into stasis or incapacitate him in such a manner that he will not be able to kill himself and be able to posses another."
[02:42] [Tabius] "I come to you asking your aid not in the first step, not in the second, but in the third step."
[02:43] [Storyteller] She ponders this.
[02:44] [Tabius] "He was stored for a 1000 years in an Eternal Crystalline Encasement, all we need is the lifetime of a child of such encasement and allow the people to die off naturally, and then break it and kill him finally ending his terror."
[02:44] [Storyteller] "I do not know the magic it would take to defeat him, nor do I have such artifacts that would allow me to use that magic."
[02:44] [Tabius] "Madam, do you have the ability to send messages to distant individuals?
[02:45] [Storyteller] she nods
[02:45] [Tabius] "Very quickly?"
[02:45] [Storyteller] she nods again
[02:46] [Tabius] "Then that is what I request. There are several teachers in the Heptagram and I think even more knowledgeable members of your most esteemed house that could or would know of such an artifact."
[02:47] [Storyteller] she ponders you
[02:47] * Tabius has not thought specifically as to whom to send the message to as of yet.
[02:50] [Storyteller] "I suppose, but it would take time, even with the artifact, for one of us to learn how to use it."
[02:51] [Tabius] "We have a week my Lady starting this day at noon.
[02:52] [Storyteller] "I fear that may not be enough time. We do not even know where Malkor is at this time."
[02:52] [Storyteller] "I thought he was dead?"
[02:53] [Tabius] "He can posses another once he dies, although it seem to take some time. Part of the agreement with the spirits of the area is that we will be informed if they get information of his location."
[02:53] [Storyteller] She nods. "So they believe he is already possessing another? And they don't know where he is, but we only have a week to find him]?
[02:54] [Tabius] "Yes and no. I believe he will find us, as before."
[02:54] [Storyteller] Find you?
[02:54] * Retrieving #pvpexalted info...
[02:55] [Tabius] "He was in one of the gardens in the city when we fought him. He had two women with him in armor made of the mystical metals.
[02:57] [Storyteller] She ponders. "Yes, the three anathema you and your companions killed. But there is no reason for them to seek your companions out that I can see."
[02:58] [Tabius] "Its not my companions or myself they will find, I believe they will come looking for their artifacts and or another purpose for them to originally have been in the city. For whatever reason they had business in this city and if they were killed before it was completed they will be back, or at least he will."
[02:59] [Storyteller] She nods, understanding
[03:00] [Storyteller] "Then we may have significantly less than seven days."
[03:01] * Tabius looks a bit weary, but still very clean and kept. He falls silent for a time while the beauty incarnate Lady Juniper to speak.
[03:01] [Storyteller] She rises and picks up a tome on the table.
[03:02] [Storyteller] "I think perhaps a someone might be able to help us better than a something."
[03:02] [Tabius] "I had had thoughts along those lines my dearest Lady, but did not want to mention thus."
[03:03] [Storyteller] She opens the book, paging through it. Her hair falls against her smooth skin, a view which you notice is quite unobstructed from the behind.
[03:03] [Storyteller] She laughs turning.
[03:04] * Tabius smiles after beholding her and looks up at her radiant face as she turns.
[03:05] [Storyteller] The front of her dress is considerably less revealing, billowing sheet stained a pastel red, she holds the book up to her chest.
[03:05] [Storyteller] "It just so happens that one such person may be in this very city, if I should be able to find him."
[03:05] [Tabius] "It does not surprise me Lady Juniper."
[03:08] [Storyteller] She puts the book back on the bookshelf and starts chanting. As she does so mystic essence flows around her, and through her, as veins of golden-red essence begin to twirl around her, and through her. Then the energy forms itself into a large sphere in front of her, slowly contracting here and there as she chants and gestures into a small, flying little person. She speaks to it in Old Realm, saying "Find me Islesi Romera, and tell him to come to my house."
[03:08] [Storyteller] The cherub shatters in midair
[03:09] [Storyteller] She looks at it, shocked, as the remaining essence flashes around the room
[03:09] [Storyteller] "Perhaps.. he is not here after all."
[03:10] [Storyteller] she blinks
[03:10] [Tabius] '
[03:10] [Storyteller] she turns to look at Tabius
[03:10] [Storyteller] roll willpower you nutty man
[03:10] * Tabius stands and looks around the room, "Or perhaps he is here in this room?
[03:11] [Storyteller] okay
[03:11] [Tabius] !exa 7
[03:11] [Storyteller] Tabius, 6, 4, 10, 2, 2, 9, 3, Successes : 3
[03:11] [Storyteller] She shakes her head unhappily. "It would not have done so. It would have found him out."
[03:12] [Tabius] "The spell is not something I am familiar with then?"
[03:13] [Storyteller] She shrugs. "It is a simple spell. It is to find whoever I say and whisper my message to them. If he were here it would have went directly to him and spoke to him. If he were warded it would go to his general location but be unable to find him. But if it were to shatter... I have never heard of that before.
[03:14] [Storyteller] she sighs ponderously
[03:14] [Storyteller] "In any case, that will not work. Perhaps you have a couple names I could try?"
[03:14] [Tabius] "A shame, I have not often met an Iselsi, I had a great curiosity about them when I was a boy."
[03:14] [Storyteller] She laughs
[03:14] [Storyteller] "They are not good people."
[03:15] [Storyteller] "But they can be useful."
[03:15] [Tabius] "So the Empress herself though or they would be a dead house, instead of just dying or dispersing."
[03:15] [Storyteller] She nods thoughtfully.
[03:16] [Storyteller] "You will tell no one of our involvement here tonight."
[03:16] [Tabius] "I would say try…. try Master Yaho from the school. He was a much learned man."
[03:17] [Tabius] "Of course not dear Juniper, I am surprised you even thought to comment."
[03:17] [Storyteller] She nods, closing her eyes, and begins chanting again. This time the cherub does not explode, and she gives the thing a more detailed description, and it flies out the window to the north.
[03:19] [Storyteller] "It still would not do. Your friends know many things, but I do not trust them."
[03:20] * Cicada arrives at the door of the house and asks if her lord has shown up yet.
[03:20] [Storyteller] The female servant who attended to Tabius acknowledges in the affirmative
[03:20] * Tabius almost looses a little composure when she says 'them', but quickly reigns it in. Then says, "Useful I think is the term you coined."
[03:20] [Storyteller] She nods.
[03:21] [Cicada] "Can I see him? Or has the lady and lord Tabius requested to be alone?"
[03:22] [Storyteller] "They are likely.... occupied... at the moment. Though you may wait here and we shall check.
[03:22] * Cicada waits in the entrance hall.
[03:24] [Storyteller] She notices your tea is cold and changes it. A knock comes at the door and she turns her back to you again, and goes to answer it. A servants asks something of her and Juniper shakes her head. She turns her head to look at you, suddenly
[03:24] [Tabius] "Something amiss?"
[03:24] [Storyteller] "Your servant is here. Do you need anything of her?"
[03:25] [Tabius] "Only to find out how Vanal is doing locking down the city so no one can leave."
[03:25] [Storyteller] She nods. "Will you go see her or shall I have her sent here?"
[03:26] [Tabius] "Your wish my Lady."
[03:26] [Storyteller] She smiles. "Go speak with your servant, in private if you wish. I will prepare something else."
[03:26] [Storyteller] one sec, gotta change computers.... go ahead and talk, just msg me it when I get back.
[03:27] [Tabius] "Thank you" and Tabius heads to speak with Sable.

[03:33] [Storyteller] So what evil behind the scene schemes did you two come up with while I was gone?
[03:33] [Cicada] [None, we paused]
[03:33] [Storyteller] ah
[03:33] * Tabius walks down the hall, down the stairs, down the other hall and into the lobby to see Sable."
[03:34] * Cicada sees her lord and drops down on one knee.
[03:35] [Storyteller] The servants occupy themselves
[03:35] * Tabius reaches down and touches her shoulder indicating for her to rise, "What news from my friend?"
[03:35] [Cicada] (gets up) Sir Cathak Vanal is expediting the requests my lord made.
[03:36] [Tabius] "Any problems?"
[03:36] [Cicada] I am late because I ran a few errands for your honorable kinsman, please forgive your disloyal servant.
[03:37] [Tabius] "I find only good in you Sable. Were the errands fruitful?"
[03:37] [Cicada] There seems to be riots breaking out in the city. Sir Cathak Vanal was already trying to deal with those.
[03:39] [Cicada] I believe the errands helped your esteemed kinsman follow your request faster than would otherwise have been possible. But your unskilled servant has far too high opinions of herself.
[03:39] [Tabius] "As would be expected. The lady Melina will have to make a speech on calm them down."
[03:40] [Cicada] I hope it works. Alternative routes through the city are interesting to find, but a bit risky.
[03:40] [Tabius] "For a servant you do quite well and I appreciate you helping him. Any other news I should be aware of?"
[03:42] [Cicada] I told sir Cathak Vanal that you would have use of your personal troops and had him send them to the place I left you before. Your servant is fully aware of her stupidity and will fetch the troops personally, should her lord so request.
[03:43] [Tabius] "They are exactly where I wish them to be, thank you."
[03:44] [Cicada] Yes, my lord. I understand.
[03:45] [Cicada] Does my lord have any further instructions for his servant?
[03:45] [Tabius] "Please find out, from the Cynis house if necessary a formula for anti-fertility drugs that mix well with water. If you can procure the chemicals or substance in large quantity do so. In addition, I would like a breastplate and some kind of armor for you, utilize the Palace armory and or house funds if needs be.
[03:46] [Cicada] My lord. It will be done.
[03:46] [Tabius] "You know my sizes, please have the breastplate available in my rooms before 10 tomorrow. Thanks you.
[03:47] [Cicada] [Wasn't the breastplate for Cicada?]
[03:47] [Tabius] (*Breastplate for Tabs and whatever you want for you :0)
[03:47] [Cicada] [Ok]
[03:48] [Cicada] [Now Cynis will require Cicada to get a hold of Maris...]
[03:48] [Storyteller] indeed
[03:48] * Tabius smiles kindly to Sable and heads back to Juniper thinking very happy thoughts.
[03:48] [Storyteller] I don't have any sexxy stuff like that thought up, but we'll assume Maris can find SOMETHING
[03:49] * Cicada bows to the back of her lord and runs out into the streets again.
[03:49] [Cicada] [or we could wait till next week]
[03:49] [Storyteller] uhhh lets end it there shall we....
[03:49] * Storyteller doesn't have a flying clue what happens next
[03:49] *** Tabius is now known as Thanos
[03:50] *** Storyteller is now known as GoldenH
[03:50] [GoldenH] oh wait, yes I do....
[03:50] [Thanos] OH DANG, this is getting GOOD!
[03:50] [GoldenH] MWAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA
[03:50] [Cicada] [Unless my lord has further flirting to do..]
[03:50] * GoldenH almost forgot about that
[03:50] [GoldenH] oh yes next session will be even better.
[03:50] [Thanos] But I want an audience when I do the flirting......'-)
[03:51] [GoldenH] heh
[03:51] * Thanos is not encouraged by GH's assurances that next week will be "better"
[03:51] [Thanos] DAMN!
[03:51] [Thanos] Next week I might not bleeding be here...... damn!
[03:51] [GoldenH] damn?
[03:52] [GoldenH] oh yes that is bad
[03:52] [Cicada] Well, today was a good game, though I fell asleep several times and neither typing or roleplaying were up to standard.
[03:52] [GoldenH] what is happening?
[03:52] [Thanos] I will have to see what I can do about access on Saturday night from Florida at my grandparents house.
[03:52] * GoldenH thought it was good considering
[03:52] [GoldenH] Ah
[03:52] [GoldenH] Does Florida have net cafes
[03:52] [GoldenH] ?
[03:52] [Thanos] Family vacation, I get on plane Saturday morning....
[03:52] [GoldenH] hmmmm
[03:52] [Thanos] I would hope so... but maybe not in the little city I will be in...
[03:52] [GoldenH] probably none up to..
[03:53] * GoldenH looks at clock
[03:53] [GoldenH] 5 AM
[03:53] [Thanos] That or I can prepay for 4+ hours of time on my long distance card and use my parents internet service here in vegas from Florida
[03:53] [Cicada] btw, you might want to post the ST - Cicada private chat.
[03:54] *** Cicada is now known as Hikari
[03:54] [GoldenH] ok
[03:54] [GoldenH] Uhhh that sounds like a lot of money
[03:54] [Thanos] dang it.... that’s a long time to be up till on Saturday night when church starts at 9
[03:54] [GoldenH] church? at least that's air conditioned
[03:54] [Thanos] 6c a minute, I still have something like 3 hours on it.
[03:54] * GoldenH does the quick math
[03:55] [GoldenH] INSANE
[03:55] [Thanos] 180 minutes old girlfriend had training in Austin
[03:55] [Thanos] Let me tell you this game is well worth it though
[03:55] [GoldenH] thanks..
[03:55] [Hikari] Hey, I sometimes pay for internet cafe. We cannot help that you have got a great game going.
[03:55] [Thanos] $18 bucks to play is not a bad thing.
[03:55] * GoldenH is the PIMPMASTER
[03:56] * GoldenH will conquer the world and make them give him money so he can pay back his wonderful players
[03:56] [Thanos] Most involved non-political Vampire game that I have been in since I played ShadowRun in Collage.
[03:56] [Hikari] HEY! I am part of the world!!
[03:56] [GoldenH] yes but you will get much more money than you give me. Trust me. it's a numbers thing.
[03:57] [Hikari] Oh..
[03:57] [GoldenH] non-political Vampire game?
[03:57] * GoldenH is totally confused
[03:57] [Hikari] Are we playing Vampire?
[03:57] [Thanos] erm sorry it was a political game of Vampire
[03:57] [Hikari] I quit!!
[03:57] [Thanos] DOH
[03:58] * GoldenH lifts up his V:tM book and starts looking at it strangely
[03:58] [GoldenH] it's the wrong color!
[03:58] [GoldenH] Exalted is Red and White and Gold! Not Green!
[03:58] [Thanos] I have played SEVERAL games of Amber (diceless RPG) that make most Vampire games look like small city politics ;-)
[03:59] [Thanos] OK, well I ran the Amber games, but well I have yet to play in one for more than a couple of weeks, nobody can really ST the them well that I have met.
[03:59] [GoldenH] yes, those nutty Vampires. I mean, they think they're SO special, and they don't even have an office in downtown hong kong.
[03:59] * GoldenH shakes his head in disbelief at the nutty vampires
[04:00] [Thanos] course, I was playing a mage in the last vampire game I was in, as well as a Nosferatu ;-)
[04:00] [GoldenH] A Nosferatu mage? Please tell me he had several dots of Thaumaturgy
[04:00] * GoldenH winces at the spelling
[04:00] [GoldenH] none of these words are spelled right!
[04:01] [Thanos] No.... I mean a Hermetic Master and and elder Nosferatu, in the same game, different characters.
[04:01] [GoldenH] Ah
[04:01] [GoldenH] good... good...
[04:01] * GoldenH rubs his unshaven chin pondering
[04:02] [GoldenH] Fiat pinged out early today and didn't come back
[04:02] [GoldenH] Ot
[04:02] [Thanos] It was an online one and I enjoyed the heck out of it. Most of the 10 or so players had 3-5 characters, I actually had the fewest. But oh what you can't do with Prime 5, Spirit 3, Time 4, Life 3, Mind 4, Matter 2, Cor 4, Ent 2 and Forces 4. :-)
[04:02] [GoldenH] You can't make the GM give you pretty women
[04:02] [GoldenH] but you can MAKE them!
[04:03] [Thanos] heeheehe......
[04:03] [Thanos] with 25 exp per week, heck yeah you can ;-)
[04:03] [GoldenH] 25 exp per week? damn. That's how much I gave out.. in Rifts.
[04:03] [Thanos] I must have posted 10 times a day sometimes with both characters.
[04:04] [Thanos] If I was a player in your rifts game I would have killed you already for giving that shitty of EXP]
[04:04] [GoldenH] lol
[04:04] [Hikari] Speaking of XP...
[04:04] [GoldenH] It was based on word and post count, though, so...
[04:04] [GoldenH] 4 from here on out
[04:04] [Thanos] Well, OK, if your a golf ball ;-)
[04:05] [Hikari] Four for this session? Ok.
[04:05] [GoldenH] not that I’m unhappy or anything
[04:05] [Thanos] then you can get 25 exp in rifts for trying to do something and failing cause your a golf ball
[04:05] [GoldenH] But I promised myself.
[04:05] [GoldenH] that I’d follow the rules.
[04:05] [Thanos] to give everybody else 4 exp and Tabs and Sable 5 for playing such good characters at the end of the game session for another 1.5 hours ;-)
[04:05] [GoldenH] You silly Thanos, I didn't give them any exp for that.
[04:05] [GoldenH] hmm I probably should
[04:06] [GoldenH] They didn't get any exp for what they did, only for what they said
[04:06] [Hikari] I don't mind. I actually thought we were getting too many before. Not that I should complain about too many XP.
[04:06] [GoldenH] and only for what they said in long winded sentences with many obscure words
[04:06] * GoldenH ponders
[04:06] [GoldenH] give Thanos/Hikari extra EXP. don't give thanos/hikari EXP. but if I do that, then I’m going to have to give DT 3 and Fiat 1 or 2
[04:07] [Thanos] (*In the Vampire game I actually complained a LOT cause nobody else was doing what I thought was required for it. It was lowered to 5exp and you could get another 5 for good plot movement."
[04:07] [Hikari] That we cannot have.
[04:07] [GoldenH] because after all, they left 1.5 hours early
[04:07] [Thanos] I missed out on 5 for missing a game session, lower exp for people who didn't do much, through their own efforts or external sounds only fair.
[04:08] [GoldenH] which is why I'm lowering it to 4 and eventually to 3, with extra points up to 5 for good manners
[04:08] [Thanos] :-)
[04:08] [GoldenH] Of course I'm giving Hikari a extra XP because she was like, the only one who did a stunt
[04:08] [Thanos] Manners being on time, able to stay the whole game session, etc?
[04:08] [GoldenH] yea
[04:08] [Hikari] Is that official?
[04:09] [GoldenH] Maybe
[04:09] [GoldenH] I think so
[04:09] [Thanos] LMAO
[04:09] [Hikari] The stunt point, I mean.
[04:09] [GoldenH] I said it was a stunt, so you can have essence back for sure
[04:09] [GoldenH] but I'm still wary of giving XP for stunts so I’ll have to think about it.
[04:09] [Hikari] Willpower? :)
[04:09] [Thanos] You don’t call pulling half baked ideas out of ones ass a stunt?!
[04:09] [GoldenH] no it wasn't that good
[04:09] [Hikari] Damn....
[04:09] [GoldenH] remember when she rolled six dice rolls?
[04:10] [Hikari] And did pretty damn good.
[04:10] * GoldenH likes Thanos' half baked ideas actually, which is why he's lowering the average XP bonus so he can give Thanos points for that in the future
[04:10] [Thanos] (I remember, I was just commenting on my hairbrained idea ;-)
[04:11] [GoldenH] On the other hand I’m going to have to decide exactly HOW to implement natures
[04:11] [Hikari] Yes please..
[04:11] [GoldenH] as fun as watching people run around under compulsions would be, that's a rule and I’m not using it.
[04:12] [Thanos] Do you think Tabs is an Architect, Leader, or Paragon?
[04:12] [GoldenH] the main thing stopping me is that the definitions are really vague
[04:12] [GoldenH] Tabs has Architect down, he's not a leader, and I’ll be damned if I can figure out Paragon.
[04:12] [GoldenH] what's that one mean again?
[04:13] [Hikari] Natures are one of those things much easier done in tabletop.
[04:13] [Thanos] "You strive to be the noble ideal of a hero"
[04:13] [GoldenH] hmmm
[04:13] [GoldenH] no
[04:13] [GoldenH] just stick with architect
[04:13] [Thanos] The def for architect in the book "You want to leave a lasting legacy" does describe Tabs, but its just not broad enough :-:
[04:14] [GoldenH] I've never seen natures used, ever
[04:14] [GoldenH] when are they given? like stunts?
[04:14] [Hikari] Think of as his biggest drive. He has many others.
[04:15] [Hikari] 'think of it, that is)
[04:15] [Thanos] pg 114 in the main EX book
[04:15] [GoldenH] I've read the description of willpower for nature following three or four times
[04:15] [GoldenH] it just seems too vague
[04:16] [Hikari] Maybe that is the point of it.
[04:16] [Thanos] In most of the rest of WW games Nature & Demeanor gives a character a core to work round and a limit to stay within.
[04:16] [GoldenH] okay but how often do you give them WP for it?
[04:16] [Hikari] As often as you like.
[04:17] [GoldenH] too vague
[04:17] [Hikari] For example, Cicada's constant bootlicking would not be worth a point, it is too easy.
[04:17] [Thanos] The EX system is more liberal than I normally thing. but it gives a sentence in italics
[04:18] [Thanos] In Cicada's point, if she is a follower, if we ALL succeed because she did her job then she gets a willpower.
[04:18] [Hikari] Cicada is Martyr.
[04:18] [Thanos] Another words as a follower, if setting up the meeting with Juniper allows us to meet our objective, doing her job will reinforce her own nature as follower and thus give her a willpower point.
[04:19] * GoldenH ponders
[04:19] [GoldenH] but how does she know that helps us to meet the objective? Hell I don't even have
[04:19] [GoldenH] objectives
[04:19] [Thanos] If as a Martyr she goes out of her way to boot like, like when there is shit on his heals or something rather nasty that MEANS something, then its worth a point.
[04:20] [GoldenH] after all if it's willpower then she has to, in character, know she accomplished her nature
[04:20] * GoldenH ponders this
[04:20] [GoldenH] hmmmm
[04:20] [Thanos] If she were a follower and we get the artifact or person here because she did a good job getting a meeting, she can find out easily enough and you awarded the point THEN.
[04:21] [Thanos] You can also award the points on a random reinforcing basis for good RPing of a characters nature.
[04:21] [Hikari] Another way is to completely ignore the willpower thing and just consider Nature a kind of roleplaying aid or alignment.
[04:21] [Thanos] Personally I would not give Cicada any points as a Martyr for bootlicking ever. Its not an important self sacrifice.
[04:22] [GoldenH] hmmm
[04:22] [Hikari] Indeed. But maybe jumping an Ape several times her own mass to keep it from her lord.
[04:22] [Thanos] If she performs some extra ordinary service at her own personally expense (like the combat before for Vanal) then I would possible give her a point.
[04:23] [Hikari] (there was no combat for Vanal..)
[04:23] [GoldenH] just messages
[04:23] [Thanos] She is making a conscious choice to follow her nature in a dangerous situation (assuming that there was a dangerous situation).
[04:23] [GoldenH] well she was jumping a lot
[04:23] [Thanos] (I didn't know what happened)
[04:23] [GoldenH] she could have botched
[04:24] [Thanos] or just failed to jump far enough and fell...
[04:24] [GoldenH] but not with an 8 dice pool, actually she rolled above average there
[04:24] [Thanos] Let me give you an example for Tabs as an Architect.
[04:25] [Hikari] Hmm, leaving an impression on the world.... Having Juniper bear his kids..?
[04:25] [Thanos] He has not build anything of note since he got here except for enhancing those robes for the Prefect and his wife. Nothing big, but its a lasting thing both physically and socially. They will think of Tabs every time they wear it. Worth a point possibly 2.
[04:25] [Thanos] "An excellent point Hikari!
[04:25] [GoldenH] hmmm. yes...
[04:26] [GoldenH] did we ever get around to him giving that to them before all hell broke loose?
[04:26] [Thanos] Fighting against decay or corruption, keeping the established structure would also fall under Architect.
[04:26] [Hikari] No.
[04:26] [Hikari] No, we didn't, that is.
[04:27] [Thanos] Nope. Still sitting there.
[04:27] [GoldenH] hmm
[04:27] [Thanos] I did not record the willpower either......
[04:28] [Thanos] One of the reasons I have been so tight with my spells is that I started off like 3 down and build it up to 1 down but keep getting knocked down to 2 down.
[04:28] [GoldenH] has that effect
[04:29] [Thanos] I will agree it takes a good bit of pondering.
[04:29] [Thanos] BUT it should be the Players pondering their natures and acting within them and noting it to you for your judgment. Often enough though you will see some good example of their nature and you just hand one out if you feel like it.
[04:30] [GoldenH] hmmm so asking them to explain to me WHY they think they should get a WP is a good thing
[04:30] [Thanos] In addition people getting to roll their highest virtue every morning for Willpower is not a normal part of the any other WW game so Nature and Demeanor or a LOT more import there.
[04:30] [GoldenH] true
[04:30] [Thanos] Most assuredly a good thing. Just Like I explained to you about the Robes.
[04:30] [GoldenH] yes
[04:31] [GoldenH] If you do ever do that and it turns out good it'll net you a WP
[04:31] [Thanos] :-)
[04:31] [GoldenH] but so far nobody has really given me a good excuse to give them WP, though Tala and Cicada have been close.
[04:32] [Thanos] There is not a social lady in all the realm that does not already have such arraignments that would not want to have a suit of clothing that can change to ANYTHING she likes with but a good bit of concentration.
[04:32] [GoldenH] Malena isn't exactly a... "social" lady
[04:32] [Thanos] (well any kind of clothing ;-)
[04:33] [Thanos] Not exactly, but this makes it easier and cheaper for her to be such when the need arises. Convenience is a costly commodity ;-)
[04:33] [GoldenH] yes
[04:33] [GoldenH] I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the implications of that spell. Never have to change or wash your clothes again.
[04:34] [Thanos] While I LOVE chatting with you guys my head is starting to pound and my eyes are getting hazy and I need massive amounts of sleep.
[04:34] [GoldenH] yes
[04:34] [GoldenH] I understand
[04:34] [Hikari] Me too.
[04:34] [Thanos] With that spell on some good clothing and a Collar of Dawns Cleansing light, you are ALL good, just like Tabs ;-)
[04:34] * GoldenH notes having to go in a 95 degree 30% rain chance parade tomorrow
[04:34] [GoldenH] heh yea
[04:35] [Thanos] icky, I will see if I can make arrangements for access on Saturday night.
[04:35] [Hikari] Well, today was a good game.
[04:35] [Thanos] very
[04:35] [GoldenH] yea good luck with that Thanos
[04:35] [Thanos] later
[04:35] [Hikari] See you later.

[22:41] Session Ident: Tabius (~web-Guest@cm245.80.120.24.lvcm.com)
[22:41] [Tabius] whats the name of the city we are trying to save?
[22:41] [Storyteller] Malkor's Guard
[22:45] [Tabius] any ideas where I should go with this?
[22:47] [Tabius] ah good Tala has said something.
[22:47] [Storyteller] hmmm, you can demand that you give them a second chance to fufill the oaths, or you can demand that the oaths no longer have a place, or you can demand to know what the oaths are, or something else I haven't considered
[22:48] [Tabius] hehehee
[22:53] [Tabius] This is bad.....
[22:53] [Storyteller] yeap
[22:55] [Tabius] Dumb ass idiots of a population! They should be killed off :-P
[22:55] [Storyteller] heh
[22:55] [Tabius] heheh I like Jynaru's line of thinking.
[22:59] [Tabius] Oh I just love this, the plot thickens :-)
[22:59] * Storyteller arches his fingers evilly
[23:04] [Tabius] LMAO.... a solution perhaps has entered my mind, but we have to capture the bastard first.
[23:17] [Tabius] Has Malkor done anything against the towns people that we have seen? Or has he been going after other people?
[23:18] [Storyteller] Malkor? Not much. But you remember the prophecy he scrawled in the temple.
[23:20] [Tabius] Yeah..... not a good thing.
[23:25] [Tabius] How do you like my solution?
[23:25] [Storyteller] it's way out there actually. I guess it could work.
[23:25] [Tabius] :-)
[23:26] [Storyteller] certainly not what I expected.
[23:29] [Tabius] What did you expect? Us to just kill the spirits or spend the rest of eternity in the town killing the guy ;-)
[23:30] [Storyteller] lol
[23:31] [Tabius] Heaven forbid, now that we know what the hell really happened and how the guy gets around I think 4 people besides myself told me that we should kill the town ;-)
[23:32] [Storyteller] a lot of people won't be happy
[23:34] [Tabius] Die or don't have kids? Your Choice?
[23:34] [Storyteller] Kill the guy who presumes to give the choice and run away
[23:37] [Tabius] That’s why we get the Prefect to give them the choice "-) OR just poison their well water for heavens sake!
[23:40] [Storyteller] hmm
[23:41] [Tabius] The subtle poisoning of the well water will likely be the best solution.
[23:42] [Tabius] With the Prefects permission of course. He has a lot more pull than all the Sons of the Earth in the City with his people.
[23:43] [Tabius] Just making the guys be unfertile will work wonders. And of course a travel interdict on the city.
[23:47] [Tabius] Does this even have a chance of success?
[23:47] [Storyteller] a chance, yea, but eh...
[23:48] [Tabius] dude, like we have a choice out of this? I pulled this plan out of my ass........ its that or kill a major incarna of an Air or Water dragon :-P
[23:48] [Storyteller] heh
[23:49] [Tabius] if you have ANY suggestions at all, I am ALL EARS!
[23:49] [Storyteller] you can just use this to stall for time. The IO army should arrive within the week
[23:49] [Tabius] Excellent ;-)
[23:50] [Tabius] It still comes down to this, once we discuss this with the head Monk, he will want to enforce it as well. Nobody wants an auto regenerating Anathema popping up in this town every fricken morning...
[23:50] [Storyteller] still, like the prefect will REALLY give permission not to have children with his newlywed wife.
[23:51] [Tabius] Well shit happens, we shall see what the Monk has to say. The Prefect doesn't have much choice.
[23:52] [Storyteller] which Monk?
[23:52] [Tabius] Which ever Monk is in charge of the IO army ;-) if he decides the people need to be seralized.
[23:53] [Storyteller] ah
[23:54] [Tabius] We just bought the damn city a fricken week free of death the Prefect better get on his knees and kiss our asses ;-)
[23:54] [Storyteller] heh
[23:55] [Tabius] What would it take to get a message to one of my Sidereal Teachers back at the Heptagram ;-)
[23:56] [Storyteller] some kind of magic summons spell most likely
[23:56] [Storyteller] either that or you could send an encoded message, but those are bad news generally.
[23:57] [Tabius] Damn that spell is not in the Black Treatise :-P
[23:57] [Tabius] I will have to rely on Juniper then.
[23:58] [Tabius] Cause we either need a Sidereal to cast that Celestial level spell or an artifact that can encase people in Amber (lv4 at the least :-P)
[23:59] [Tabius] Depending on how things go that is :-P
[00:03] [Tabius] YOU BASTARD!
[00:03] [Tabius] ;-0
[00:03] [Storyteller] heh
[00:03] [Tabius] ;-)
[00:04] [Tabius] I see how it is.... well I guess we can just kill the dragon WHILE WE RIDE IT :-P
[00:05] [Storyteller] lol
[00:06] [Tabius] :-) oh this is just to much fun :-)
[01:01] [Tabius] Is there anyone that ranks higher than myself in this Cathak Perfecture?
[01:02] [Storyteller] possibly Vanal, seeing as you two are the official delegates for now.
[01:02] [Tabius] Then for all intents and purposes this V'neef bitch can get lost and we can take over? Or do we somehow have to bow to her whimp?
[01:03] [Storyteller] You should be able to, although technically the prefect has more authority than you.
[01:03] [Tabius] Not that Tabs is powerhungry just convicted to get this resolved.
[01:04] [Tabius] Yes, but without confirmation that he put the lady in charge she has nothing.
[01:05] [Storyteller] true
[01:12] [Tabius] ARG this is slowly eating away at me. The times I do not wish to be in charge I end up being, and the times I WANT to be in charge I don't get to be.
[01:13] [Storyteller] I know what you mean.
[01:24] [Tabius] I would like to know what the V'neef lady has on the top of her mind when Juniper is mentioned.
[01:25] [Storyteller] roll it
[01:26] [Tabius] 6 is 2 more than 4 so everything.
[01:27] [Storyteller] she is thinking it is strange that you have an audience with lady Menemon, or should have anything to do with here. Clearly, she does not see you as a sorcerer, and also sees you only as a minor threat to her politically, should you choose to contest her for her assumed stewardship of the prefecture
[01:28] [Tabius] LMAO
[01:28] [Tabius] That’s good to know. I think that Vanal will be equally glad to know.
[01:29] [Storyteller] she wasn’t thinking of Vanal
[01:30] [Tabius] No she wasn't '
[01:30] [Tabius] which means she is not prepared.
[01:43] [Tabius] Was I aware that any other House had more than 25 soldiers in town?
[01:44] [Storyteller] no
[01:44] [Storyteller] and none may
[01:44] [Storyteller] well a few of them may have a wing for private defense, but those would have been mostly mortal and evacuated.
[01:47] [Tabius] A WING!!!!!
[01:49] [Storyteller] hey... they have several houses, you gotta have some private guard
[01:49] [Tabius] please tell me before 40 minutes has past in this conversation, I would like to not be late for my meeting.
[01:49] [Storyteller] maybe I’m getting these numbers screwed up again
[01:49] [Storyteller] ok
[01:49] [Storyteller] 125 troops
[01:49] [Storyteller] what is that
[01:49] [Tabius] I meant per house..... A wing is 250......2 times as much as Vanal
[01:49] [Storyteller] ah
[01:51] [Tabius] if shit hits the fan I want to know what Vanal and I are up against.
[01:51] * Storyteller nods
[01:51] [Storyteller] probably no more than 25 per house at this point
[01:51] [Tabius] excellent :-)\
[01:51] [Storyteller] but it could be REALLY easy to sneak in extra troops.
[01:54] [Tabius] So it would, so it would. Just remember that my little band of guys is in RoEE armor +2/+2 and carry enhanced swords (costs them a willpower to increase its damage by 1 as cold damange)
[01:56] [Tabius] Tabs is going to concentrate a little and get the Ladies real thoughts about this shit.
[01:57] [Storyteller] ok
[01:58] [Storyteller] She's planning to kill the spirits and use it to gain favor with the prefect and malena.
[01:58] [Tabius] That would be consistent with 2 :-(
[01:58] [Tabius] this lady has to go.
[01:59] [Storyteller] she's the lady of a great house. I say, bring it.
[02:03] [Tabius] THE LADY!?
[02:04] [Storyteller] V'neef is the lady of the house v'neef
[02:04] [Storyteller] right?
[02:04] [Storyteller] anyhow 40 minutes in
[02:04] [Tabius] Thanks
[02:05] [Storyteller] Does cicada know about the sidereal?
[02:05] [Tabius] That’s a VERY GOOD question GH....VERY GOOD
[02:06] [Storyteller] if she does then she can't talk about 'em either, of course.
[02:06] [Storyteller] but if she doesn't then you can't talk about them in her presence.
[02:08] [Tabius] That is correct.
[02:08] [Tabius] the two of us will have to talk about it sometime.
[02:09] [Storyteller] yeap
[02:09] [Storyteller] and even so you know very little about them at all.
[02:09] [Tabius] I know they can cast Celestial Sorcery, it basically says so in the Heptagram section of the DB book.....
[02:10] [Storyteller] yea
[02:10] [Storyteller] you know that much at least.
[02:10] [Tabius] I know that the Amber Status block is beyond my ability, so it has to be in theirs (he assumes)
[02:11] [Storyteller] indeed
[02:11] [Storyteller] Also there's really no easy way to tell if Juniper knows, though she probably does, being Menemon and all.
[02:12] [Tabius] If she is a sorceress, so most likely went to the Heptagram and knows. If she is not, I need a way to get a message up there VERY FAST
[02:13] [Storyteller] not EVERYONE who went to the heptegram knows about the sidereals. some people are very good about paying attention to the right things only
[02:13] [Tabius] Hrmmmm....
[02:14] [Tabius] Unfortunately I do not have a book with that messenger spell or I would spend a day with that charm I have learned and study for a psudo week and learn it.
[02:14] * Storyteller nods
[02:16] [Tabius] I only the black treatise spells can I learn without special dispensation from you (in the case of the Healing Flames spell)
[02:24] [Storyteller] huh]?
[02:26] [Tabius] There are the 5 spells from the Black Treatise. DoOB, Demon of the first circle, SoIB, Storm Wind Rider, and E Countermagic
[02:26] [Tabius] Those are the only spells I can learn on the spot without a teach without you telling me I can. They are in the book, I have a copy just like every other sorcerer in the island.
[02:27] [Storyteller] ah ok
[02:30] [Tabius] Well all the Sorcerers that went to the Heptagram
[02:30] [Storyteller] heh
[02:39] [Tabius] I am confused if he is not a sorcerer...... he did a LOT of shit that was very like sorcery? or is her information wrong compared to what Tabs knows?
[02:40] [Storyteller] Did you ever see him do sorcery?
[02:41] [Tabius] Me no, but the book describing the first age of the city made it look like he could do some massively cool stuff.... the giant manse, the plants, etc....
[02:42] [Storyteller] but do those really need sorcery?
[02:47] [Tabius] The plants having their own climate individually, yeah... its a spell in 3C
[02:48] [Storyteller] ah but I never intended that to be sorcery. It is a use of superfluous essence not necessary for the functioning of the manse.
[02:48] [Tabius] AH!!!!!! well then.... that is very sweet!
[02:48] [Tabius] Do you like my solution, even if its not possible?
[02:48] [Storyteller] of course you have no way of knowing this on your own, nor did they have their own separate environments, it was merely a giving of life.
[02:49] [Storyteller] yes it is good, though it would take a modification of the spell.
[02:49] [Tabius] I tell you I really had to dig in my ass to find a solution.
[02:49] [Storyteller] heh
[02:49] [Storyteller] yes but remember that it is, of course, impossible for you to know the truth.
[02:50] [Storyteller] for instance, that explains the smaller garden. even though the manse is not functioning it IS having a residual effect of giving good life to the gardens.
[02:50] [Tabius] So I still think they guy is a sorcerer until I find out different, which Tabs only Half believes Juniper about her 'guess"
[02:50] [Storyteller] yeap
[02:50] [Tabius] That or his wife could have been a sorcerer....tabs had not thought of that?
[02:51] [Storyteller] true, there are lots of other sorcerers I’m sure Malkor used them to his effect for various sorceries
[02:56] [Tabius] A good assumption.. Tabs will have to think on it more to come to any conclusion. He has seen the guy in combat though that might give an indication.
[02:56] [Storyteller] You saw the guy in combat and all he tried to do is run away
[02:56] [Storyteller] and I suppose you think that defensive spell was cast by him
[02:57] [Tabius] *Is ignorant of the spell, I do not remember that part well at all, I only read it once right before the next game session....
[02:57] [Storyteller] ah
[02:57] [Storyteller] there was a spell I modified from DoOB to be a defensive spell
[02:59] [Tabius] interesting..... well if he didn't cast it, who did?
[02:59] [Storyteller] who indeed. probably him.
[03:02] [Tabius] or some artifact he carried..... Tabius is going to go review those shortly for a weapon one could use against spirits.
[03:02] [Storyteller] yea
[03:06] [Tabius] heheheheheeheee.... not surprised at all !
[03:07] [Tabius] damn I am liking missing whole words when I type now :-P\
[03:08] [Storyteller] lol
[03:09] [Tabius] YOU BASTARD!
[03:09] [Storyteller] lol
[03:09] [Tabius] OK OK.... now Tabs is going to have to take his thinking a LOT deeper!!
[03:10] [Storyteller] lol
[03:11] [Tabius] Oh... that’s the second YB you have gotten out of me in 11 games and both the same night.
[03:11] [Storyteller] heh
[03:12] [Storyteller] You should have heard Jynaru/Fiat earlier.
[03:12] [Storyteller] man
[03:12] [Storyteller] lets keep going
[03:12] [Tabius] I am going and going and going..... some damn good RP, with a sideling conversation.
[03:13] [Storyteller] heh
[03:13] [Storyteller] yaep
[03:15] [Tabius] any name of any Sidereal you would like me to use in specific?
[03:15] [Storyteller] not really. you can just pull the name out of your ass.
[03:15] [Storyteller] unless you have one in mind
[03:17] [Tabius] :-) and off my solar character sheet for Bionka is comes :-)
[03:17] [Storyteller] heh
[03:18] [Storyteller] though the master yaho from bionka is probably far different then the master yaho from the depths of my soul
[03:18] [Tabius] My other ST gave me Yago as a good name and I trust his judgment on such things most often.
[03:18] [Storyteller] Yago? you said Yaho. oh well.
[03:19] [Tabius] yeah.....but its supposed to be Yago, but I changed it to an H so it would be erm.,....different. But since he reads the logs he will get a kick out of it.
[03:19] [Storyteller] heh
[03:19] [Storyteller] he reads the logs? nice to know.
[03:21] [Tabius] He has read several of them at least. I will tell him to read the end of this one since its mostly me. He laughed at the Cathak Sorcerer Warrior, but thought the set up I gave Tabs was pretty nice.
[03:22] [Storyteller] it is
[03:22] [Tabius] Just don't ask him to survive in the forest ;-)
[03:23] [Storyteller] heh
[03:23] [Tabius] Hrmmm...... the mind goes very weird places after 1am :-)
[03:25] [Storyteller] be wary of the strike-at-the-jewels-kick
[03:25] [Storyteller] VERY wary
[03:26] [Tabius] hehehehe ...... I will have to work on Juniper a LOT to get her to like me I think :-( it would be so nice to have a Mnemon wife ;-) like my mother.
[03:27] [Storyteller] paging dr freud
[03:35] [Tabius] Just so you know, the thought that THANOS had are NOT what Tabs was thinking about.... he was thinking about her bare back in a loving and thoughtful manner appreciating it and what it could lead to ;-)_
[03:36] [Storyteller] lol
[03:38] [Tabius] '-) just though I would clear that up before Tabs jewels decided to fly from his body ;-)
[03:39] [Storyteller] heh
[03:41] [Tabius] Tabius needs to think of some anti-fertility agents that go well in water ;-)
[03:41] [Storyteller] hmm I see
[03:41] [Tabius] I think the Cynis House would know more about that.
[03:42] [Storyteller] most likely
[03:47] [Tabius] dang I kind of like giving orders when I have to.,
[03:47] [Storyteller] heh
Session Close: Sat Jul 20 03:56:32 2002
Session Start: Sat Jul 20 22:53:09 2002
Session Ident: Shakel
[22:53] [Storyteller] hey sorry about not being here
[22:54] [Storyteller] anyhow do you want to explore the city 1:1 or is shakel going to be resting in bed?
[22:56] [Shakel] She'll probably rest up until her wounds can be tended to . . . I'm having trouble catching up with the plot with my frequent absences lately
[22:57] [Storyteller] ah
[22:57] [Storyteller] How far along are you on character #2?
[22:58] [Shakel] I had something drawn up . . . I'd have to take a minute to find it and go over it
[23:00] [Shakel] am i correct in assuming Spirit Sight and Spirit Walking count as 2 of the 5 Immaculate Charms starting characters receive?
[23:00] [Storyteller] yea
[23:06] [Shakel] found it . . .
[23:06] [Shakel] it's pretty solid
[23:07] [Storyteller] When the characters come back it'll be an NPC but it'll do until they do if Shakel isn't going anywhere.
[23:08] [Storyteller] Besides there are things around the city I want somebody to know of when they get back
[23:09] [Storyteller] I could just tell you that shakel heard it in a rumor, but this'll be more fun for you."
[23:11] [Shakel] Coo'. I only have a skeleton background right now - Wood Aspected Immaculate Itinerant, born into the Order of a disgrace monk
[23:13] [Storyteller] allright
[23:13] [Storyteller] He has been here a while, he being the one who brought notice that the IO was coming with an army to back them up.
[23:17] [Storyteller] Anyhow where would Qet likely go to wittle away the time?
[23:18] [Qet] he's an avid gardener and very faithful . . . so possibly either to a garden, or somewhere he can contemplate Immaculate teachings
[23:21] [Storyteller] Very well there are many gardens near the prefect's manor
[23:22] [Qet] excellent, I’ll e-mail you the char sheet as soon as i type it up
[23:23] [Storyteller] okay
[23:32] [Storyteller] As you meditate in the gardens you are disturbed by many sounds of crying and gnashing of teeth. Great crowds rumble by, making it nearly impossible to hear even your own thoughts save by the deepest communications. Your attempts to find a quieter place has been in vain; the entire town seems to be so disturbed.
[23:34] * Qet rises from his meditation, savoring the grass beneath his feet before slipping his sandals on and heading to the streets to see what the commotion is about, gently brushing the plants with his fingertips on the way
[23:35] [Storyteller] You see masses of people at the city gates, trying to leave. Most of them are wearing house livery, but few dragon bloodeds are in the crowd except to appear to be acting as crowd control
[23:37] [Qet] I approach my fellow Dragon-Blooded slowly, glancing nervously about the crowd for the source of their panic . . . "What's going on? What has happened?"
[23:39] [Storyteller] The guard looks at you in shock. "You haven't heard? Our Lord prefect, who has just rose to power was nearly assassinated, and the old prefect was killed in an accident last night. The Houses have demanded a mass evacuation of all nonessential personnel, and the celebrations canceled."
[23:41] [Storyteller] People mill about you, in a never-ending flow towards the nearest city gates
[23:41] [Qet] "Evacuation? Where will these people go?" Qet looks about, confused, "Where is the Prefect? Who can I talk to about this?"
[23:42] [Storyteller] "The Prefect is in bed, recovering from his assassination attempt. These people will return to their homes, from where they came. They were merely here for a party, and it has proven to be most unentertaining."
[23:43] * Qet nods. "I wish to offer my assistance. Is there anything I may do personally?"
[23:47] [Storyteller] "Unlikely, though you may wish to leave. There are many rumors of vengeance. Though if you can, your assistance would be most useful in directing the people)
[23:48] * Qet bows and moves some distance away, and begins attempting to calm people and direct them to the gates
[23:53] [Storyteller] The dynasts seem comforted by your presence in a way, but it is a long job and they seem to know where they are going. Hundreds of people leave before the crowds thin to a manageable number
[23:55] * Qet joins the crowds in leaving the city, deciding Sextes Jylis will show him the way
[23:57] [Storyteller] You leave the city with the crowd and find a giant congregation of mortals. A few dragon blooded are here to stand watch, apparently, but the resulting party is like an army.
[23:58] [Storyteller] All the camps settled outside the city walls has been packed up and eventually they move on their way. A few parties move off towards the west but by far most of them travel east alongside the Dragon's Channel, moving towards the serpentine river. ] You leave the city with the crowd and find a giant congregation of mortals. A few ] You leave the city with the crowd and find a giant congregation of mortals. Vast numbers of sailing ships, filled with nobles who decided not to stay, begin sailing towards the serpentine river as well
[00:03] [Storyteller] Later in the day the people see a huge dragon in the sky and start running away
[00:05] * Qet stands smiling as the crowds panic all around him . . . a dragon is an auspicious omen, not something to be feared. They can be dangerous, he knows, but he is not afraid.
[00:36] [Qet] . . . I've been asked to the reinforcement arriving of the deal that has been struck . . . how far off would i expect them to be right now?
[00:37] [Storyteller] two days away
Session Close: Sun Jul 21 02:24:05 2002
[GoldenH] I warned you
[VeryAngryFV] 'ey, DT! Get over here you big military Cathakian lug!
* GoldenH falls over laughing
[VeryAngryFV] Bah!
[GoldenH] maybe he didn't see
[GoldenH] he's back
*** DarthTom has joined #pvpexalted
[VeryAngryFV] I don't care if he saw the angryness. None of that matters, and even if he tells Thanos/tabs, I think he knows about Jyn's little hobby.
[GoldenH] wb DT
[DarthTom] yo
[DarthTom] little hobby ?
[GoldenH] NOW he knows something is up
[VeryAngryFV] It is a nice little hobby, after all, not a driving force like him fighting for Ledaal.
[DarthTom] well, care to tell ?
[VeryAngryFV] Besides, Vanal doesn't care much for Tabius anyway.
[GoldenH] have you read the logs DT?
[VeryAngryFV] He is?
[VeryAngryFV] Where is he?
[DarthTom] um, lemme check
[DarthTom] Care? he HATS Tab
[VeryAngryFV] Oh, yes. Jyn's pissed at tabs, and wants to pull some sort of little thingie as a bit of revenge.
[VeryAngryFV] I'm not sure what, but it should involve humiliation of some sort.
[DarthTom] considers him a cowardly little runt who's not even worht the ffort the draogns spent to Exalt him
* VeryAngryFV shrugs. Jyn just finds the fact he was forced to listen to Tabs really, really insulting.
[DarthTom] Well, Van made Tab's life a living hell in primary school so perhaps we could develop some...synergy
[GoldenH] care to get into character? you two both left early so there's lots of time to talk
[Jynaru] Well, I'm in a damned perfect mood for this sort of thing, at least!
[GoldenH] Okay DT's at the east gate directing his troops against the mob. I'm assuming you showed up right after cicada left
[Jynaru] Probably so. I most likely excused myself to check with the other Ledaal guy about getting more troops and asking advice.
[GoldenH] well do that later
* Jynaru nods. So, are there a lot of troops around?
[GoldenH] maybe 25 troops
[GoldenH] the rest are pretty spread out
[GoldenH] maybe another 25 under his command but not directly
[Vanal] "THE GATES ARE BARRED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE ! GO HOME !"
[GoldenH] The crowds are not appeased. Fortuantely they don't seem to have any rotten fruit on them.
* Vanal doubts that'll work...(what I would give for Unruly Mob dispersing Rebuke right now)
* Vanal HATES crowd control duty
* Vanal scowls and triggers Glowing Coal Radiance (Personal) and and puff himself up
[GoldenH] The crowd covers their eyes at your burning majesty
[Jynaru] (whoa... Vanal busts out the Presence Charms?)
[GoldenH] (yep)
[Vanal] "I AM LORD CATHAK VANAL, CHOSEN OF THE ELEMENTAL DRAGON OF FIRE ! THE GATES ARE BARRED UNTIL YOU ARE TOLD OTHERWISE ! NOW *RETURN TO YOUR BUSINESS* !"
[GoldenH] presence + manipulation
[Jynaru] (Ah. Well, I'll lean up against the wall while he scares the shit out of the peasants.)
[Vanal] !ex 5
[GoldenH] Vanal, 7, 6, 7, 10, 7, Successes : 5
[Vanal] BOO-yaka
[Vanal] (th presence charms jsut fit him *so* much...)
[GoldenH] The crowd rocks backwards at you words, eventually dispersing completely. You know it is only a matter of time until they return
[Jynaru] (Indeed. Big angry Marines drill sergeant from Full Metal Jacket.)
* Jynaru walks up to Vanal, and smiles tightly. "Dispersing the rabble?"
* Vanal takes a deep breath
[Vanal] "Damn idiots. It's their hides if any leave the city."
[Jynaru] "If they weren't idiots, they wouldn't be in this mess to start with."
* Vanal turns to a troop "Get two mroe fangs here, and I want barricades set up."
* Vanal scoffs
[Vanal] "what do expect, they' only mortal ? You can't expect them to lvie up to *our* high standards."
[Jynaru] "I need to talk to you about the military situation, if you have time."
* Vanal nods
[GoldenH] The troop points out that all the rest of you troops are guarding other gates
[Vanal] (oops)
* Jynaru looks around for a good, private place.
[Vanal] "...why couldn't this be the 10 Days DRAGON ?! Fine, set up the barricades."
[GoldenH] and the barracks, in case you need those
[GoldenH] but then the barracks re undefended
* Jynaru smiles at the troops comment. "Actually, I might can help with that."
* Vanal arches an eyebrow "Oh really ?"
[Jynaru] "That's what I'm here to talk about."
[Vanal] "Fine then, this way."
[Jynaru] (Are we near the barracks, or what?)
* Vanal leads Jyn to a more isolated place
[GoldenH] The troop nods and they begin setting up wooden crowd control walls in front of the gates
* Jynaru follows after.
[Jynaru] "I'm sure by now you know about my supposed plot against the rest of you."
[Vanal] "Somewhat. Why ?"
[Jynaru] "While I'm not sure what sort of details Tabius may have revealed, he was correct on one thing. I do have armed troops inside the city."
[Jynaru] "50, to be precise. I can call 75 more and have them here in a couple of days."
[Vanal] "You WHAT ?! What the HELL were you planning on pulling ?!"
* Jynaru looks at Vanal. "I PLANNED on killing the Anathema in the area. However, things didn't go according to plan."
[Vanal] "I'd bloody say."
* Vanal pulls his temper under control
[Vanal] "So we've got another couple of scales in the city ?"
* Jynaru chuckles. "Indeed. There were more than I expected, and then these other events...occured."
[Vanal] "Ah"
* Jynaru nods. "Yes. I need to know how you want to do this. From your reaction, I can just see what the other dignitaries might think."
[Jynaru] "They are not true legionarries, they are house troops under my command, and as such, unofficial."
* Vanal nods
[Vanal] "Perhaps we could cut a deal, then ?"
* Jynaru eyes Vanal. "What sort of deal?"
[Vanal] "I don't have enough men to guard all the gates properly. Both my men, and civilians, will die as a reuslt of this. I'm asking for you to get your men to stand guard at one of the qwuieter gates, so I can free up *my* men too take positions at the more dangerous ones."
[Vanal] "In exchange, well...perhaps we can find a way to show Tabius that he shouldn't poke his nose where it doens't belong ?"
* L_Jynaru looks incredulously at Vanal, and then breaks into one of those rare smiles.
[Vanal] "The little coward needs to be taught a lesson anyways."
[L_Jynaru] "I believe that would do nicely, Vanal."
* L_Jynaru chuckles, and offer his hand. "shake on it?"
* Vanal nods and shakes
[L_Jynaru] (The perfect gesture for the realm, considering how it's to show you have no weapons up your sleeve, sort of)
[Vanal] (this is pretty much the only type of condition you'd see Van scheming anyways, he's apolitical in the EXTREME, he just really dislikes Tabv and is still burning form being showed-up)
[GoldenH] Vanal's men finish putting up the barracades. At least now they won't have to stand shoulder to shoulder when the mob returns
[GoldenH] that it?
[Vanal] (as far as I know...)
[GoldenH] Jynaru's troops will be there how fast?
[Jynaru] (Heh, Jyn's a plotter, but that's more of a hobby. When it cxomes down to it, he prefers one on one stuff.)
[Vanal] (NAw, Van's just focused on being a good solider and serving the realm as a whole...he may be a bullying arsehole...but he's a patriotic bullying arsehole)
[GoldenH] guess that's it then. some of Vanal's troops will be relieved by 50 of Jynaru's, ununiformed troops, allowing Vanal to get an extra 50 at the east gate. With them come news that the far north gate is having problems as well (you were forced to split your troops eight ways) so you suppose you might be better off putting them somewhere else
[Vanal] so i put them off somewhere else
[GoldenH] okay each gate now has 20 troops of yours guarding it, except for two which Jynaru's troops are holding at 25 each
[Vanal] I give the far north gate some reinforcements, and move the rest to any othe rpotential trouble spots
[Vanal] perfecto
[Vanal] that works
[GoldenH] and you have five following you around for backup
[L_Jynaru] (At least I'm learning the server names....Vanal's a Bravo, correct?"
[Vanal] (Bingo)
[L_Jynaru] (heh, Jyn's a paragon. Which apparently confuses GH.)
[L_Jynaru] (I want to be the best damned cold-blooded manipulating sonofabitch I can be!)
[GoldenH] paragon? where IS that word from.
[GoldenH] anyhow
[GoldenH] if you can explain why this is confirms your natures i'll let you get a WP back
[L_Jynaru] Ok, last I heard, We had shaken hands, and are going to start setting up the troop movements.
[Vanal] Well, Van's getting a chance to wreak some reveng eon his favorite target, who embarassed him, and by getting his revenge on Tab he's showing the little shit that he is still the bitch ion their relationship
[L_Jynaru] Wait just a second here. Is there any way I can get some uniforms?
[GoldenH] what kind of uniforms?
[L_Jynaru] If they don't LOOK like guards, they're gonna get bumrushed, or something.
[GoldenH] You can get non-house specific uniforms
[GoldenH] or you can get some of Vanal's uniforms
[L_Jynaru] Got to keep it somewhat offical. City guard uniforms, legion uniforms,it doesn't matter. Which is the most impressive?
[Vanal] I suppose I could loan you some legion ones
[Vanal] legion, I'd imagine
[L_Jynaru] That would keep it more official, I suppose, and keep the gates looking the same.
[Vanal] city guards are cops, legionnaires are soldiers
[GoldenH] of course that makes it difficult to tell the difference between them in a pinch.
* L_Jynaru nods. Soldiers, not cops. Important.
[Vanal] give them different helmets or something
[L_Jynaru] There's only 50 as of now, we keep track of who's stationed where.
[Vanal] say they're...'special forces' or somehting to explain
[L_Jynaru] Armbands?
[Vanal] that works
[L_Jynaru] Armbands is less noticeable, and fits in a bit closer with current military markings.
[L_Jynaru] If you knoe to look for it, it tells you, but if you don't know to look for it, you can't tlel them apart.
[GoldenH] post this with the log?
[DarthTom] I guess so
[GoldenH] they'll figure it out sooner or later, i'm sure
[GoldenH] unless you two agree to keep it .... asecret
[VeryAngryFV] Depends, I guess. Can we get a preview?
[DarthTom] I mean, it doesn't bother me if it's posted unless someone uses it to metagame *g*
