Session Start: Sat Aug 09 21:41:15 2003 Session Ident: Tala [21:41] Session Ident: Tala (~Werlynn@ool-182dcdb4.dyn.optonline.net) [21:41] do i have any particular reason? [21:41] summons or something? [21:42] you know he is intersted to see you a few times, from other monks since you got back.. I don't remember exactly when and where, but I know i've dropped it more than once. [21:43] o [22:01] I have given some though to Tala's student [22:02] hrm? [22:03] you mean for the next game? [22:03] He's gonna be old, like 60 or 80. Peasant/Farmer Earth Aspect, 0 Breeding. He didn't show off his exalted nature often. Having grown up w/ the poor peasants, he feels closer to them than dynasts [22:04] hrm [22:04] She met him and convinced him to join the order when he was in his 60s. [22:05] He is less devoted to the order, but he embraces her "One with aspect-element" philosophy [22:05] I was kind of hoping to keep away from immaculate concepts, and more towards the younger generation. Intersting concept, but it probably wouldn't fit in with the rest of the characters [22:06] my plan was always for him to be her student [22:06] well, he can be her student. [22:06] As i said, he's not as devoted to the order as she [22:06] But he embraces her philosophy [22:06] ah, I see [22:09] He'd be a champion of mortals so-to-speak though. More likely to side with them than other dbs, having spent a long time living among them, performing tasks Dynasts would consider menial, like mining, farming, etc. [22:09] * Storyteller thinks it's interseting, i'll just have to think about it and see if I can work it in, beucase it's not really waht I wanted. [22:10] Otherwise it would have to be something unrelated to Tala [22:11] hrm [23:18] what do i know of this trial? [23:21] ? [23:22] Basically, it's a simple trial. He will test your advancement in the martial arts by observing how the essence of your charms flow, and through that he will gain insight into how enlightened you have become; the more essence you can channel, the more likely you are to pass the trial. However, he will also be testing your ability to learn; throughout the trial you will be able to make a [23:22] perception + martial arts roll to duplicate his moves. The difficulty of this roll will be the cost in motes of the charm he activates, since he will be doing it slowly enough for you to see how he does it. While you may emulate his charms in this fashion, you may not use them on your own until you have paid XP for them, to show that you have practiced it more than instinctually copying [23:22] wahtever you see.
