[21:26] The thudding gets louder and louder, one lone servant with a sword getting out of the way as you enter the room [21:26] * Vanal looks at the shutters with a disdainful grimace...and deliberately walks up to one, takes his sword, and shoves it clean through the wood grain, before pulling back just as quickly, slick with blood [21:27] The thudding stops.. for a moment.. everything is silent except for the cries of your children and the lamentation of your women.. [21:27] * Vanal back away form the shutters [21:27] "Here it comes." [21:28] A half dozen ninjas swing into the room through the shutters, knocking them off the walls! You can see more swinging in from either side! [21:29] * Cicada comes running up the stairs, chakram in one hand and her nakedness covered by only the light towel she grabbed on the run. [21:34] * Tala runs up the stairs towards the sounds of battle [21:35] Tala arrives to see unarmed women blocking a stairway as a horde of ninjas try win their way through, the women only armed with musical instruments against the ninjas swords [21:37] (The stairway the one I kicked them down ?) [21:37] There are three floors, and a roof [21:37] you are on the third floor [21:37] Tala and the ninjas are on the second floor [21:37] The sleeping group is on the first floor. [21:38] * Vanal grins evily [21:38] Also [21:38] As one of the ninja raises his sword to strike a woman Tala grabs his arm and sword pulling them further back and plunging the sword into the Ninja's back, then continuing the motion to flip the ninja backwards [21:38] there are more ninjas coming from the roof! [21:38] There are screams from downstairs vanal! [21:39] * Vanal looks to the woman "Find cover" [21:39] * Vanal bolts to the stairs...and looks at the intricate, heavy brass railing...a thought forms [21:39] There are more ninjas! they're going to run into the room from above! they follow you, chased by maybe... 75 ninjas. [21:40] * Tala drops low and sweeps a pair of ninja into the air but before they can hit the ground she grams them and throws them back over her shoulder so they tumble down the stairs [21:40] Tala is fightning ninjas below! Tala and Vanal see each other, but the ninjas merely fight blindly, more coming in the windows every moment... [21:40] [two more stunts and we'll move on] [21:41] * Vanal charges towards the stairs, taking to the air and landing solidly on the railing, and letting gravity take over from there as he slides down the railing on his feet, holding the blade at roughly neck-level for anyone on the stairs and letting his momentum carry the blade through the backs of the any poor blakc-clad sod who happs to get in his way [21:43] * Tala jumps up twisting her arm around the neck of a ninja and spinning around him, kicking all the surrounding ninja as she snaps his neck [21:43] Vanal chops off several heads on his way down the stairs and lands on the ground, surrounded by ninjas who run back, as if they were hit with the force of a tidal wave. Then, a black rain of throwing stars falls on vanal, as the ninjas throw dozens of the little things at the stalwart champion [21:43] The ninjas fall back as tala knocks them away! [21:43] One more stunt, there are 160 ninjas left. [21:44] We'll just move on from there. [21:45] A pair of Ninja swing their swords at Tala but she melts out of the way of both swings, twisting in a superhuman fashion, while her fists and feet flow with her movements, snaping out and striking both Ninja [21:46] * Retrieving #pvpexaltedrp info... [21:46] /me ducks behind his shield, the pathetic little toys bouncing harmlessly off of it alloyed surface. But stronge rporblems linger...a bannister. Van takes to the air once more, leaping air, time slowing, stretching, the moment ALMOST freezing as he reaches the apex of his leap...the chandelier. With a great swing of his blade, he sends the massive, 20-foot lighting accesorry crashing down onto the [21:46] mass of attacking shinobi, accidentally taking out half the stairwell in the process, but hey...colatteral damage is unavoidable, right ? [21:46] indeed..... [21:46] Many ninja die. [21:47] The wives and children are saved. [21:47] And so... as we left off with last game, Vanal sleeping on the couch, and many many dead ninja bits lying around the floor. [21:48] Everyone's here! so play.. The party, as you know, is being held in a wing of the Imperial Manse. At this point, i'd like to make a note on the construction of the imperial manse, that is really just an extension of what it talks about in the book. [23:55] The Imperial Manse itself is kinda like the city of chicago. A giant, continuous building, much of it belowground. [23:55] I thought that was Montreal ? [23:55] It's pretty much every modern city, I fear. [23:55] But, I do believe it's the only one of it's kind in Exalted. [23:56] At least, on this scale. [23:56] Nexus [23:56] Nexus is more like New York, with the districts. [23:56] but that matters now [23:56] *not [23:56] let's partay [23:57] The Imperial Manse's external covering is made out of jade and granite, and the outer rim of the palace. And the palace proper extends at least 10 stories from the ground at the rim. [23:57] This is only the minimum thickness. Towers stick out of this, gardens, skylinghts, ponds and more, sitting on the roof of the massive structure. [23:58] You have Two wings to yourself. For the most part the revelers will be inside. [23:58] For those with actual invitations, You have the roof, and a small tower. [23:58] And so.. the numbers get smaller and smaller until you have one room, near the top of this tower [23:59] Here is the gathering of close friends, family, and associates you have allowed from all those who came to enjoy to hear Cicada's tale... [23:59] But first, you must eat. And that is when the music starts, as the trays of freshly prepared, fabulously expensive food is unvield for the pleasure of yourself and your guests. [00:01] The various performance art pieces throught this room are very intersting though. From the balcony, you can look down to see the cast of thousands that make up your invitee list. [00:03] * Nika is nibbling on the food and sipping champaigne(or however you spell it), and generally ignoring aeveryone as much as he can [00:03] * Cicada enters after a few more minutes. And she is wearing a new dress. [00:03] * Cicada is not just wearing any dress. This sleeveless one on light blue, matching her hair well, fits her and somehow elevates her. [00:03] "She finally arrives..." [00:04] * Vanal puts on a look of mock concern"...um, those of us who lived through this gonna have to sit through this ?" [00:05] * Cicada has little gusts of wind around her which freshens the air and makes it even more attractive to turn in her direction. Tiny crystals of ice forms in the air around her causing a complimenting lensglare from every angle and making sure th light is always *just* right. Only the diadem and earrings match the splendor. [00:19] The brilliant smile of the Cynis nearly blinds you, his sharp, green hair cut into many sharp angles. [00:20] "Ah! Hello, lady Ari." [00:20] * Tala spends the evening catching up on the highlights of the past several years with her family [00:20] "Greetings, Lady Cynis. Sir Vanal has spoken of you often." [00:20] "Be careful with Jynaru here...he's a sneaky bastard." [00:21] <*Abiram*> "And how about your new companions? Are they worthy of being blooded, or is it, as some say, all talk?" [00:24] People begin to waft from the central room onto the many balconies, and massive baloons are launched from the roof of the manse as the people celebrate happily. One of the largest Orchestras you've ever seen is playing, more than a thousand members strong. [00:24] * Vanal sips his juice [00:24] "How's the wine, by the way ?" [00:25] Suddenly, there is a loud clapping and applauding from the stairs. [00:25] "I think he's arrived." [00:25] "The dragons judge them so, not I." [00:25] Slowly, but surely, the regent makes his way towards the lot of you, smiling and resignedly doing his public duty as Regent [00:25] * Vanal adjusts his tunic [00:26] * Cicada stands up and bows. [00:26] * *Abiram* glances critically at the heros [00:27] * Tabius remains off to the side visiting with minor people and mostly taking note and notes on the big people in the room. [00:27] * *Fokuf* finally arrives between Cicada and Jynaru, Lady Ailset gently holding his arm, mysteriously clothed and armored as appropraite for this event. [00:55] * Cicada glances up at Juniper from her bow, trying to show sympathy and concern.
